Grandad, I Love You

Hello everyone hope you all had a lovely weekend.
I'm here today with something I made back in January.
Now in real life this looks soooooo much better but taking photo's was so hard....even more so once I put it in a frame.

This is for Natalie's bedroom wall so its colours matches her bedroom & its for her grandad. Natalie was the apple of my dads eye & he could always make her smile. Excuse my french here but as soon as she heard the words 'How's my little shit-bag' she would give off the hugest smile & knew it was her grandad........its love without words as thats how Natalie loved her grandad, she could never tell him but she showed it through her smile.
WARNING PHOTO HEAVY
I basically made a kinda scrapbook page.........kinda, sorta.....lol.
Papers are all Maja Design from different collections.

i had no plan involved when doing this, I just played & went with whatever came to mind at the time lol....I just did a bit at a time over the space of a few days in between DT work & other work.
The clock I cut from Maja Design Vintage Autumn Basics & heat embossed it with UTEE after fussy cutting it out. Then slid it between the top & middle layer of paper.

The bottom sheet of paper I mahcine stitched twice but in a wonky fashion so it went the whole shabby effect.
This corner I added structure paste through a Dutch Doobadoo stencil form Noor Design UK & added different colours of ink to soften the brick as I didnt want a stark white but also to add another shade of colour to the paper.
I added rub ons here & there from some I've had in my stash for a long long time. The pearls scroll I cut down, that I think is Prima but not certain.....I've also had that a long time lol.

The photo is the last ever photo to be took of my dad & it was took about 7-10 days before he passed away so he looks incredibbly ill on it........8 weeks before this photo he looked incredibly fit & healthy for a 59 year old man......even Dr's said that. Unfortunately chemo took its toll very heavy on him & didnt prolong his life.
The frame around him is Scrapiniec from Noor Design UK & I got this frame on my first Scrapiniec order but waited til the right time to use it.....this was it!!
The smaller papers are again Maja Design from Vintage Autumn Basics 6x6 pad..........love this paper!!

The little sentiment says 'Treasure Your Memories' & that was cut from some Maja Design paper.
I've added bits of lace here & there, I wanted bits of of lace poking out here & there & in nodefined order.
Not sure where the key is is originally from as I cant remember :-(

We have more bricks down here, with inks & the other half of the pearl scrolly thing lol. We also have cheese cloth peeking out.A resin butterfly with bits of fran-tage on.
I also pleated the bottom corner of the paper which is where I thought of the pleating thing I did on the card I did for the Maja Design Mood board, click here if you havn't seen it.

Here I added more lace with ripped paper & brick paper from the layer underneath peeking through with lace as well. I've aslo added more rub on wording.
Around christmas time we went our local Hobbycraft & I brought 2 of these frames, they are 12x12 & deep so are perfect for projects like this............this is what I made it for....

Here it is in its frame. I added a large bark heart down the bottom corner & a couple of flowers to the top corner just so it wasnt too plain......

I really enjoyed making this, playing, getting inky & ripping & well just experimenting & seeing what came out in the end. Its not what I had pictured but at the same time I still like it. Like I said in real life it looks soooooo much better.

I will add a pic on later of it on Natalies bedroom wall so you can see it in its place.

Hope you liked my project today.
Thanks for stopping by & letting me share some memories with you.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Unhappiness

Hello everyone how are you all?
Well I meant to quickly pop this card on this morning but then hubster offered to take me the Range in Shiremoor.........I dont think I've ever put makeup on & got dressed so quickly lol. Oh my the christmas decorations are just gorgeous!! Ok everything in that shop is gorgeous.

Ok lets get on. Ok do you ever have those cards that you make & you have this picture in your head of what it will look like???
Well I had a picture in my head when I made this.............its NOTHING like the picture, in fact I dont know where this came from to be honest. I made it a few weeks ago & kept forgetting to blog it.....yep accidently on purpose kept forgetting lol.
However I might as well get it over with :-(
2 good things about this card......no 1 of them IS NOT the design!! 1 is the Maja Design papers & 2 is the Scrapiniec chipboard...... I actually initially did this for Maja Design mood board for October but never sent it........ Have you ever been THAT unhappy with something you have made?? Well this is my unhappiness.......no I wont cry I promise lol.

Ok so the gorgeous papers are Maja Design 'Enjoying Outdoors' & I distressed & bashed the edges & I also added bits of gesso & structure paste with stencils on the paper. The stencils I used are Dutch Doobadoo here & here.

The image & tags are from the paper pack. The flowers are a mixture of Prima from my stash & the 2 larger ones at the top I made myself. I also added a bit of tulle underneath as well. I added bits of lace sticking out here & there........this is an excellent way of using up those scraps. If you are like me & will not throw anything away that measures over an inch lol.
The Scrapiniec is the Lavender Mist Frame 02 from Noor Design UK.

Well thats it from me. Thank you so much for stopping by & your lovely comments.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Noor Design UK DT Post

Hello everyone, how are you all?
Well its a beautiful Saturday morning when I'm scheduling this post, I think summer has finally reached us by the North Sea here yayyyy. I actually made the card a week ago using summery goodness from Noor Design UK.
All links to products used at the bottom of the post.

I've used the gorgeous new paper from Lemoncraft called 'Gorgeous Spring'...these really are so pretty & colourful....the sunny day made we want use them lol.
Have you seen that pretty pink lace.......isn't it beautiful

I have used some fabulous Scrapiniec which I lurve sooooo much, they are perfect to keep in for making cards with or without images. Especially the larger ones that are great for people who dont like images....I have lots & still want more lol.
I painted the 'Love Life' with gesso. The clock face is Prima & the doily underneath the clock face I cut out from one of the sheets of 'Everyday Spring' & then placed a Scrapiniec clock in the centre.

I have used lots of gorgeous flowers from Noor Design UK & added pearl string in amongst them. I've also used one of my favourite leaf dies & the paper for the leaf I used the co-ordinating paper from the set.

Thank you for stopping by.
Take care & big hugs

Live & Love Crafts DT Creation - Happy Birthday Princess

Hello everyone its Saturday which means its my  turn to post something over at LLC using Sandy's theme of Pink + one. I have gone for PInk & Purple inspired totally by my daughters bedroom & the gorgeous Pion 'My Precious Daughter' collection.
Its my daughter's birthday today she's 23, I cant believe it. As some of you know she has severe Cerebral Palsy & whenshe was born she was extremely ill, she wasn't supposed to live much longer than 2 weeks..... All the odds were against her, however she has proved everyone wrong & she will carry on proving everyone wrong, I know she will <3
So here is a gift bag I've made her for one of her pressies. I have put some flasy bath lights in that we have brought her for her new bath ;-)
I lurve this paper collection & it was my favourite Pion collection until Paris Flea Market came out, so I'm gonna say this is one of my favourite's as they always seem to get better & better lol.
So this is the main sentiment which I cut form the 'My Princess 12x12 sheet' as she is our princess.
I also cut out butterflies form the collection, here I layered 2 butterflies up together, added pearl string to the centre & a bit of gesso.
Just tucked under the sentiment is a crown die-cut which is from the Marianne Circle & Crown die. I've inked it up with Milled Lavender distress ink. The circle part is under the spellbinder frame which was cut out using the other side to this same sheet.

Here I've added the crown again but this time I cut it out of the Pion paper, reverse side. I have rolled this top layer of paper which is the top part of 'My Princess 12x12' & added a doily underneath.
I made a small bow, added a metal rose & hung a 'Princess' charm from it.
The 'I Love You' sentiment at the top there is from a Maja Design sheet.
Again I've added another cut out butterfly from the collection.

At the bottom I ripped the paper & added lace to both sides, so it kinda looks like ripped lace as well ;-) Another butterfly, The leaf die is a Noor Design die.
The bottom paper is the reverse side of 'Angels 12x12' sheet. I've inked & slightly distressed all edges & then machine sewn around them.

In the top left corner I've made 2 bows with 2 colours of seam binding that Sandy shabbies up herself & is sooooooo gorgeous, I love this stuff. I also added a charm from it. NOw Natalie cannot do anything, basically a 3 month old mind in a 23 year old body but I know she would probably be like me & lurve & I mean LURVE shoes........or boots & we can never have too many. So that's why I added a Shoe Charm.....think she would probably steal mine from time to time too.
HUbster wonders why I need over 50 pairs when I only have 2 feet.........ah I may only have 2 feet but there are 365 days in a year.......you do the maths. In fact I need more darling ;-) lol

Ok so at the bottom I used my Spellbinder frame again & used the smaller frame to cut out a piece again from the 'Angels' sheet but this is from the front bottom right corner. I've then cut an image from the 'My Princess 6x6' sheet & placed it behind this gorgeous Prima Resin Oval Frame. I added a tiny rose to the top & a scrap of seam binding ot the bottom..........I cant throw any seam binding & keep every bit of scrap lol.
You can also see peeking out from behind the flowers a wooden heart covered in gesso.
Of course I added gorgeous laces, 4 in total including the one behind the ripped paper. I also added an array of gorgeous flowers & pomegranate apples from LLC of course & added a dashing of gesso here & there.

The dies under the flowers are all from Noor Design UK, 0331, 0332 & 0163 which I cut in half to make it wider spreader because its a larger array of flowers.

That is it form me, I'm out with my whole family this afternoon taking the birthday girl out. We've had a hell of a week, with things going from bad to damn right kick you in the teeth, so we are really looking forward to it.

If you pop on over to Live & Love Crafts you can see the uber gorgeous new Pion Collection called 'Linnaeus Botanical Journal', so so pretty.

'To my darling Natalie, 'Happy birthday princess, we are so proud of you & love you from the bottom of our hearts. Hope you have a fabulous day sweetheart mmwah '

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, take care.
Tatty bye & big hugs Vicky xxx
