Sweet Stampin Challenge DT Card..........

Good morning my lovely friends, how are you all this morning? I bet you are all glad its the weekend I certainly know I am....its been a bit of a poop week but never mind!! This is actually a scheduled post so hopefully I'm still a kip in my lovely warm bed snuggled up to my lovely jubbly hubby lol.
Did you like my little riddler-thingy-ma-jig yesterday....I tell ya it had my heed done in & altho I would love to say I'm clever I'm not I had it sent to me in a text message......my ode grey matter got itself in knot....its even more grey now....
Anyway onto why we are here....today is Saturady so its time forrrrrr.....
This week the challenge has been set by our lovely talented Abi & she has set the challenge as
Clear As Mud
Which basically means Brown plus 1 other Colour.
I love browns I really do & just lately I'm really liking brown & pink on cards so you can guess what I've gone for.......

I've used one of my Simply Sassy girls & to make the papers I went for 'Hippy Chick' which you can get here......I'm slowly getting there inking my new stamps up lol.....I dont actually like this card & there are lots of reasons why but I wont bore you. The lovely papers which I do like are from Nitwit Collections you should get yourself over there.....wow thats all I will say!!!

The heart came with the papers & the gorgeous flower came from Crafty Emma's & I sprayed it with Gold Glimmer Mist from Crafts & Me which is just soooo beautiful & gives a perfect shimmer.

The image was coloured with Promarkers. The LOVE tiles came with the paper set I just cut them out. The flower thats on the paper has a button on it so I just attached a real button from my button jar....which I rarely use for some reason.

I had a gorgeous delivery yesterday from Wild Orchid Crafts which is where this beautiful lace is from, I ordered different lace & lots of flowers......which are absolutely devine!!! For the actual card base I used A4 brown Kraft card.
I think thats it from me but please pop over to my teamies who have made the most gorgeous cards they are all stunners. Hope you will enter our challenge this week we look forward to seeing all of your cards.

Thankyou so much for stopping by I appreciate every single visit & every comment you all totally rock & make my day. I will be back in a bit with my next DT card.
Until then tatty bye.

Well its Thursday so you know what that means....yayyyyyy its
We had fabulous entries last fortnight you were all amazing!!
This fortnight the theme is
'Distressing'
We all love to distress our papers even if it does upset us getting the scissors etc to our beautiful papers it does look fab afterwards lol.
Our fab sponsor this fortnight is Crafty Emma's Store who is offering

the lucky winner 5 Promarkers of their choice.
For my card I have used another one of the new sheets, I am loving these so much.

This is 'Ivy Mermaid' decoupage which of course you can get from here she is so beautiful & I love the greens are her. My new 'Go Kreate' die came a couple of days ago so I just had to make an easel card with them, I love this shape. This is cut with the larger die so obviously you need an A4 die cutting machine for it, I used my Grand Calibur.

The beautiful seam binding I got from Ebay but I did order a load from The Ribbon Girl which arrived the other day & its gorgeous so why not pop over & place an order, The gem I got for crimbo which I think hubby got from Quixotic Paperie.

This is to show you the beautiful layers of the decoupage.

The sentiment is a digi sentiment from Whimsy Stamps. Cream & moss green A4 card are from

Tissue Box Tutorial

Hello everyone I am mega late today it really has been one fo those days so I'm gonna get on with my post for you. Last week I said I would be back today with a tutorial for you. Well here it is I have put together a tutorial for the 'Tissue Box' I made on my 1st posting for Crafts & Me.
There are a lot of piccies in this post cus I have tried my best to explain all of the steps, if however you get stuck or something isn't clear then simply e-mail me & I will help out any way I can. My e-mail address is on my blog in my contact page.
Materials you will need are as follows;
Score Board
Paper cutter & scissors
Glue & double sided tape
Nestabilities
3 Sheets of A4 card
Designer Paper 6x6 or larger & you will need 6 sheets, 2 designs 3 sheets of each design.
Lace or edging

For every little black mark in between the numbers I call it a quarter....not sure if thats right or not. I've also drawn down each score line with a pencil, you dont need to do that I've just done it this way so you will see the score lines easier & I've also wrote on the card at which points to score i.e pic shown above means score at 5 1/4 which is the first little mark after 5.
So place your A4 card longest edge along the top of your score board & score at points shown below.

Turn the card so that the shortest edge is along the top & score down at 6.
Rotate it back the way it was & cut out the bottom corner like in picture below.

Then cut a slit on the middle score line cutting up to the 1st score line going across.

On the right side cut the corners away like shown...only do the right side.
Now repeat each of these steps on your 2nd piece of A4 card.
Now fold along all the score lines.
So now you should have this...

On 1 piece of card either attach double-sided tape or glue to the end strip as shown below.

Glue is firmer & more secure I have used tape for quickness.
Lay the 2 pieces of card side by side & the strip you have put the glue on attach to the 2nd piece of card as shown below.

Distress all edges & folds with ink. I have used 'Tea Dye' distress ink.
When you have distressed all edges you can put your designer paper on at this point or leave it til the end. I have left mine until the box is made up.

Attach glue or tape to the end strip as shown above.

Then fold the other side in attaching it to the strip you have just glued. This should then form the box.

Turn the box upside down & on the flaps where you have cut the corners off attach glue along the 2 sides.

Then fold all sides in making sure the ones you have put glue on are folded in last as shown above.

If you wish to strengthen the bottom cut a piece of card to the same measurement as your box & glued it to the bottom. I have used a paler colour card so you can see easier what I mean.
Next we move onto the lid. So for this you will need your 3rd piece of A4 card & score as shown in picture below.
Turn the card 90 degrees & do the same score lines.

On each corner cut a slit as shown below, 1 slit in each corner tab.

Now fold each score line.

For the next step you will need your nestabilities. The shape is entirely your preference as this will be the hole where your tissues come out.

Make sure you have your nestie in the middle & make sure it is not larger than the opening on your tissue box.
Next step is to distress all edges like you did to the box.

Have ready the papers that you will be using to decorate, choose papers that will co-ordinate with your image. I always work back to front & colour my image then choose my papers lol.
For my image I have used 'Flapper Girl Melody' which I got for crimbo off hubby, you can get this stamp from here. For my images I use this card here, its smooth so colours blend easily & I dont get any bleeding & I can also use it for my digi images as well, it goes through my printer with ease.
You can distress 1st then attach your designer paper before cutting your shape out I just forgot which is why I've done it this way lol.....either way will work the same though. So once you have distressed all the edges then attach your paper of choice. Then turn it upside down & place the same nestie as used before into the cutout & run throught your die-cutting machine. This will then cut the shape out of the paper.

Put some glue on all 4 corners of your lid & then fold in to glue it all together as shown below. I use either paper clips or mini pegs to hold it in position while its drying.

While the glue is drying you can decorate your box if you havn't done so already.
You will need your 6 sheets of paper 2 sheets of each design are for the box leaving 1 sheet of each design for the lid.

I cut the sheets just slightly smaller than the panels on the box.
When the glue on the lid is dry its then time to attach the lace or edging which ever you are using.
You can either cut into 4 strips, 1 for each side or 1 long continuous strip to go all the way around.
Each strip should be just slighter longer to avoid having gaps in the corners.

Excuse the choccy in the pic I needed a fix lol.
To make measuring the strips easier I cut a piece of card from my discarded pieces the same length as I want each strip to be. I just find it easier than putting each strip against my ruler.
Glue along all the bottom edges of the lid & then attach your lace.

You can also use paper lace which ever is your preference.
You can now decorate the lid to match your box.
Here is my completed tissue box.

I have cut around my image & attached it to card cut with the same shape nestie as used on the lid. It helps to make the image pop out a little bit more. The papers I've used are K&Co.

I made a butterfly for the back using a Marianne die. I then did different heat embossing & attached pearls to the body.

This is the lid all finished. You can decorate as little or as much as you want.....keep it simple or lavish it with flowers & embellishments the choice really is yours.
Well that is it for my tutorial I hope you made it to the end, get yourself another cuppa if you did lol.
Thankyou so much for looking at my tutorial & I hope it was ok. I'm still not used to doing these, this isonly my 2nd now so its took me a few hours to do this as well as what it took to make the box lol. I'm sure I will get quicker lol......I hope so. This box will take a standard square box of tissues it is slightly bigger though to accomodate any that are slightly larger. Any questions please feel free to e-mail me & I will gladly answer any questions I can.
Dont forget the challenge 'Tearing' we still have going over here.
Tatty bye for now & I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

Something Simply Special For My Princess........

Good evening everyone I am back again for the last couple of days I've been on making something for my daughter Natalie. I've just been doing little bits here & there but tonight ploughed into it. I've got a tutorial to do for Monday its been planned for Crafts & Me so tonight I wanted to get this finished. Now as most of you know Natalie is severley disabled she requires 24 hour care & is totally dependant on me & hubby for all of her care. Well we are going to give her bedroom a complete make over. Dad is building a full wall to wall wardrobe to fit all of her stuff in, which is a lot lol. I ordered her new pink tv yesterday & we've even found one of the brackets that they have in hospitals so you can watch tv in bed....you know the ones that have the tv & phone on them. I have wanted one for ages cus Natalie hasn't got the best eyesight but I just thought of getting her a larger tv but then we found a store on the internet that does them for £300 which I thought was a really good price so got it straight away....I got sooooo excited I can tell ya lol. Anyway I am the one who does all decorating, designing the whole kit & kaboodle, dad does all the building & electrical work.....he is soooo good at it. Well now that I craft I wanted to make her a few bits & bobs for her room. So I'm starting with a door plaque. Her bedroom is gonna be pink & black, I want it girly for her but grown up with a touch of class as well if you know what I mean lol. I've always wanted a 4 poster bed but she has be in a bed similar to an hospital bed, the electric ones to higher & lower so I'm gonna build her a canopy make her drapes & things...it will be fab.
Right as I'm waffling again I am gonna show what I've made I have followed a sketch for it to combine it with a challenge cus I really like the sketch & I thought it was perfect....here is her bedroom door sign...

I have used 'Pillow Talk' Simply Sassy sugar nellie I know I have used her before & I should be really inking my others but this is the most perfect stamp for a girls bedroom dont you think. Also my daughter is a sassy girl lol. You can get Simply Sassy girls from here. The gem swirl was actually pink & blue so I coloured each blue one black with a black copic. The image has also been coloured with copics & then a couple of layers of heat embossing to help prolong the life & protect it. I even managed to get it look like a feather pillow could of been burst with little bits of white on the image.

The papers are Magnolia I brought them especially for Natalie, I got quite a few papers in pinks & a pink & black one cus I have a few alterables to decorate. The tag I made myself & printed it out, inked the edge & heat embossed it. The wooden heart is from my stash I just painted it white then inked the edge with 'Worn Lipstick' then stuck a pink gem love heart on which I got for crimbo, I also attached a pink flower to the side.

Here is some of that lovely seam binding this has the words on 'Love is all we need'.....which is perfect cus no amount of riches can replace love......as long as we have love then we have all our riches!!! I made 2 bows then glued them together. The button is card & I heat embossed it then threaded some bakers twine through it.

This is actually a small canvas that I decorated up the frame around the edge I made with A4 card & distress inks to make it look like wood, I also sprayed it with Crafters Companion spray & shine to give it a subtle sheen. This is the 1st time I've done this I was just playing about earlier in the week & this is what I came up with.....I used quite a few colours of distress inks lol.....but I'm quite pleased with it it does look so much better IRL.

Well this is the last piccy I'm so sorry about the long post. I do hope you like this. I was so nervous about doing this as I just want it to be perfect for Natalie who hasnt even seen it yet as she is fast alseep in bed which is where I'm going as soon as this is finished lol.....didnt realise it was so late....or early...???
I want to thank everyone for the wonderful comments I have received on my last 2 cards you are all fantastic I really do appreciate every single comment you leave & you all really make my day & make me smile... so from the bottom of my heart 'I THANK YOU' <<<>>>hugs to you all.
Take care my lovely friends, keep on smiling.
