Live Laugh Love from Swedish House Crafts

Hi everyone I'm here today using one of the new Magnolia stamps from the Sunbeam Collection along with an older Magnolia background stamp from my stash.

I've used a Magnolia Tag die & added words on it from Gummiapan, Live, Laugh.......I've stamped them with Versafine black ink & stamped onto Maja Design Monochrome 'Muted Fuchsia', cut them out & then attached to the tags.

For the 'Love' part of the Gummiapan text stamp I stamped it onto Maja Design Celebration 'The Table Is Set' & cut it out using Gummiapan Stitched Banners Thinner dies. I cut out the 2 lowest sizes & used the same paper just the larger one is the reverse side.

To create the scene I have used 2 Magnolia stamps, Sunbeam Tilda from the latest Sunbeam Collection & Barbed Wire from the Summer Memories collection I think. Suha has the mini version of this background stamp in her store.
I used my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform which makes masking images together a breeze. I then coloured them with distress ink refills.

I also added 2 chipboard wood fences either side of the image. These I painted white with some white paint from my stash. I also added a few small flowers from my stash.
The leaves were all cut with Magnolia Dies.

The main paper used on the card is Maja Design Celebration, I've used 12x12 sheets 'The Table Is Set' & 'To The Party' reverse side. I've also machine stitched all the edges as always & decorated inside to match the front.
I cut out the image using Gummiapan Stitched Rectangles Dies & then attached that to Maja Design Monochrome Muted Fuchsia cut out using Gummiapan Rectangle Postage dies.

Flowers, lace & doily are from my stash.

Thank you so much for stopping by & hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Happy Easter from Swedish House Crafts

Hello there everyone I'm here today with my DT card for Swedish House Crafts & I've made an Easter card using some cute quirky chicks.....I love the funny looks of these chicks....look at their eyes lol.
Lots of dies used for this card & links to all items used will be at the bottom of the post to take you straight to the store.

These fab chicks are a Gummiapan Stamp 'Chicken Family' & I stamped onto smooth card with cocoa Memento using my Tim Holtz Stamping platform^ then coloured them with my copics. I'm not great at colouring in yellow especially with Copics but these chicks are that easy to colour, it literally took about 3 minutes lol.
I then used the matching Gummiapan Die to cut them out. I then decided to make a little scene with them.
You can use these for Easter or a Spring card, Suha even has the single chicks in her store with matching dies.

I used Pion Design Easter Greetings 'Easter Morning' for the base of the card. I then added card cut out using Gummiapan Dies 'Old Paper'.

To create the little scene I first cut out a circle using Roxstamps Pierced Circle die & Pion Design Spring Meadow, the reverse side has pretty sky & clouds on it which was perfect for the background.

For the tree I used Magnolia Birch Tree die,I cut it out twice, once in white cardstock & again in kraft cardstock & gave it a lick of white paint.
I used Magnolia Lovely Fence die for the fence....this has always been one of my favorite Magnolia dies this has...I love the little hearts on it/
The grass is also Magnolia dies form a Magnolia Doohickey club kit, I used 2 dies & used Pion Design Easter Greetings paper. The cloud is another Magnolia die from another doohickey club kit.

I glued everything to the sky background & then I added a scalloped circle using Gummiapan Inverted Scalloped Circle die. Once I glued that into place I then trimmed off any over-hang of any of the dies. I attached foam pads to the back to give it dimension off the card a little & then added my chick family once it was in place.

The 'Happy Easter' sentiment I cut from Pion Design Easter Greetings 'Borders' sheet. I also cut the butterflies from the same sheet. I added a few small flowers from WOC & the card is complete.

I enjoyed making a scene for a change, made a nice difference using all different dies & does not take the light away from my quirky chick family. This is a card for my eldest & his family as they are quirky & always make me smile.

Thats it from me but why not pop along to Swedish House Crafts & look at all the wonderful dies & stamps Suha has, if you make a scene with any leave a comment as we would to see them.

Thanks for stopping by, take care & hope you have a wonderful Easter Weekend.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Your Wedding DT for Swedish House Crafts

Hi everyone I'm here today with a wedding card using 2 Magnolia images, one is the main image & the other is hidden somewhere ;-)
Quite a bit of colouring on this card but I really enjoyed making it,

The flower I made myself with foamiran, if you look closely behind that you can just see the Roxxtamps Heart Wreath die cut out twice, once in white cardstock & once in pink vellum.

The flower that is coming down from the foamiran flower is a die form the last Magnolia Doohickey Collection Volume 18. I cut it out in watercolour paper then painted it using distress ink refills.

I added corrugated cardboard painted with white gesso to add texture & depth to the card.
The bow is made with a Magnolia Doohickey die that you can pre-order from Swdish House Crafts. It was cut out in the same Maja Design paper as the card.
Down the centre I added another Magnolia die called the Recipe Card & layered it up on top of the corrugated cardboard.

The gorgeous Magnolia stamp is called Mr & Mrs Magnolia from the You're INvited Collection. I stamped onto watercolour paper using the fabulous Tim Holtz stamping platform & coloured them with distress ink refills.....I have a few stamping platforms & I have to say my absolute favourite is the Tim Holtz one, love the size & especially love the sturdiness & quality of it.

Here is the image that was hidden. I used one of the Magnolia mini stamps to co-ordinate with the main image, stamped & coloured it with distress ink refills & then cut it out using a Magnolia Tag die. Its another fabulous way of using those mini stamps. Though this was not originally my idea, I saw it a long time ago from a very talented crafter whose colouring I absolutely adore.......I'm hoping to be like her when I grow up lol. Link to her blog is right here.

For the background colour I used a few different colours to get a sunset sort of colour. To do the backgrounds I use the Watervalve brushes as I find they are fab & quick for colouring the background. I dont fill mine with water I use my water bucket just like I do when Im using my sable brushes.

Here you can where the tag goes & I added waxed cord in white & in pink & some white seam binding & a gorgeous bit of bling to the centre.
The 'Love' metal clip thingy is form my stash as is the foamiran.
I have used 1 sheet of Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics, I've used both sides & its the '7th May' sheet.......my favourite sheet of the whole collection......need get more I think lol.

Thats it from me, thank you for stopping by. Take care.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Home Sweet Home

Hello everyone, yay its the weekend, my favourite time of the week as it's quality family time.
My head has not been screwed on right this week at all and not just crafting!
I've used "My Own Key Tilda" from the You Are Invited collection and I coloured her with distress ink refills and covered her bow on the key in glitter to give the girl a bit of bling.

Behind her I have added a House using Magnolia House Tag dies from the same collection. You get a little house with it as well as a key, I didn't use the key but the little house I added in co-ordinating design paper to act like a door, the roof also matches. The butterflies are from the same paper collection as I have used on the card. The tiny white butterfly at the bottom of the card is a Gummiapan Stamp which I stamped onto vellum and heat embossed with white embossing powder and fussy cut out.

I have added two more Magnolia DooHickey dies at the top. The first one is the Dream Tag from the Butterfly Dreams Collection, which I cut in the co-ordinating paper. The butterfly is from my stash. I've also added a key which was cut using another Magnolia die, Vintage Keys from the Sweet Rainbow collection.

I've also used the Magnolia Love Typewriter dies from the You Are Invited Collection. There is also a brand new die used on here from Gummiapan. It's the Postage Stamp Rectangle Nesting dies and they are fabulous. They are also available in a Square too. Pop on over to see the yummy new products Suha has got in and more coming.

The yummy scrummy paper is Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics Collection........oh my I lurve this collection and a little part of me cries when I have to cut it....I cannot hoard it forever though can I lol! The tag is also from that collection and I stamped "Home Sweet Home" on it and added a charm from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a fabulous weekend.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Happy Birthday Handsome

Hi everyone I'm here today with my DT card for Swedsih House Crafts I its a male card. It was hubby's birthday on the 2nd Febuary. Of course to make male card I always turn to the Maja Design 'Denim & Friends' paper, if you struggle like me on those dread male cards then this paper makes it sooooo easy.
I was actually busy decorating the week I made this & yet managed to make this in just over an hour......including machine stitching all the papers. Thats a record for me, it usually takes me hours to make a card lol.

So I have finally used my Magnolia Denim Jeans Pocket die I brought when it was first released...yep they have been in there packet ever since..... I know shame on me, its not the only 1 either & there are still more unused in packets :-0
So I love this Magnolia die & to make it look like a pocket more I cut a piece of scrap paper to make it look like a hankerchief popping out the pocket. On the pocket I also added a piece of border that you get along the bottom sheets of the Maja Design 12x12 paper.......nothing needs go to waste.
I have a long running joke with hubby & sometimes call him Boyfriend, so I got my Tim Holtz Wording book & used 2 words out of it to make the word I wanted.

I love the Gummiapan Die 'Happy Birthday' & so I've used that for the card, I placed Happy at the top & Birthday down the bottom & cut out 'Handsome' again from one of the borders from the bottom of a 12x12 sheet.
For the wording I cut the wording out twice in white cardstock & then again in matching Maja Design Monochrome & glued them all together to make them stronger, its like chipboard then.
I have been asked a few times what glue I use as some people find it too fussy with liquid glue.
I use spray glue, I keep an old show box in my craft room & spray each piece to be glued with 3M Craft Mount in the shoe box, then using tweezers place them altogether. I find it so much quicker doing it this way & it dries quicker too.

I always decorate inside to co-ordinate with the front but I dont always decorate top & bottom inside. However these sheets in the 6x6 pad were perfect for the wording I wanted to add inside.
The 'happy Birthday' I stamped on another piece of white cardstock & cut it out with a Gummiapan Rectangle die leavig room for me to write my message.
'You Are My World' is from Tim Holtz Wording pad. The 'I Love You' is from 2 different stamps, if you dont have the sentiment you really want use different stamps & then cut out the words & make the sentiment you want. I could have done it neater maybe but I was in a rush & hubby still loved his card, especially inside bless him.
I was really pleased my brain worked enough for me to figure this out this way of making a new sentiment lol....I was tired with decorating until midnight every night lol.
From a card I made for my eldest son as his birthday is New Years Eve I had stars left over from a Gummiapan die I used, so I added those stars here..... I think stars are great as little add ons if you want to add interest or fill in blank spaces. The lovely Tamara gave me that inspiration as she uses stars often on male cards lol.

If you struggle with male cards like I do then you need to get this Maja Design collection, I have used a mixture of the 12x12 sheets & the 6x6 pad & the monochromes.......this collection is my favourite for male cards but it can be used for soooooo many occasions even for females as the ladies on this DT will tell you.

You Are Invited

Hi everyone doesn't my heading sound delicious mmmmm, sorry for those on diets.....though if it makes you feel better I cannot eat cake at the minute either lol. Ooooh I lurve cake too..
So I made a Lollipop Invite card thingy lol using a fabby new die from Suha.

Look at that scrummy cake die mmmmm and it's pink. My granddaughter is probably gonna steal this off me.......she does with lots of my creations bless her and then sits them all in her bedroom on shelves and her window sill....

Ok anyway the new die is the Gummiapan Story Cake die and it's fab and could be used for so many things....even a wedding cake. I was going to use it with a Tilda but then thought for my first time using it I would give it centre glory on its own.......yep love it that much you will be seeing it again lol. I cut the cake out twice and glued both together to make it thick and then added the white icing bits in white card stock and added stardust stickles to it.

For the middle layer of the card I used Maja Design Monochromess and a punch from my stash to make the edge pretty. The beautiful paper is of course Maja Design Sofiero which you get with the monchromes and at the minute Suha has this beautiful collection on sale.....pop along here to see it and of course buy it before I buy it all.....yes I love it that much lol.

Flowers, lace and corrugated card are from my stash. The leaf is a Magnolia die-cut and the flower type die-cut is from a Magnolia Doo-Hickey Club Kit, Volume 16 I think - but my mind has gone blank lol.

The banner at the bottom is another Magnolia die from a Club Kit. These really are awesome kits and the dies always come in handy, I love how you can mix and match different collections. Olga on the DT does very different things with the dies, she is utterly amazing, it goes to show that a die can be used so many different ways.

Ok last photo which is a little better I think, I've struggled with my pics...insert unhappy face here....
The sentiment is a new Magnolia stamp that came with the Christmas Calender but Suha also has the collection in store. Yhe collection is called "You're Invited", you actually get two stamps with this one. I stamped it then fussy cut it and put it onto a banner cut with a Magnolia die. The circle in the centre was cut out using a Gummiapan die. I love these sets and they are some of my favourite to use.

Thanks for stopping by, take care.

Mini Handbag Album for SHC

Hello everyone, this is my first post of 2018 so I wish you all a Happy New Year, may it be one filled with happiness and love.

Ok so on to what I have made. Well a few years ago I saw something on Pinterest that was a mini album that folded up like a handbag and I loved it...........yes its took me this long to finally make one lol.  Actually I've had the base made since last October.......I have a few half done projects in my cupboard lol.  The photo above shows the front, which is very foofy compared to the one I saw on pinterest years ago but I love my foofiness lol!

I have used quite a few dies on this, all the leaves were made with different Magnolia dies. Some were from the Magnolia Christmas Calendar (which I opened all at once lol) some are from older Magnolia dies, the white one is Grandpa's Flower Leaf.

I have also used one of the fabulous new dies Suha has recently got in her store, Gummiapan's Feather die. I cut it out twice, once in white card stock and then again in pink vellum. I also cut them down a bit.......they look pretty don't they? I added pretty flowers from my stash and some organza ribbon tied in a bow, then heat shrunk with my heat gun to give it a shabby effect, tucking it behind the flowers.

I brought these Bronze handle sets from Swedish House Crafts a long time ago and finally I have used one, they really are gorgeous. The one I have used here is the mini and with the Handle you also get 4 boxed feet which are great to use on boxes etc. I used tiny brads to attach the handle but all I had was silver and gold. So I used gold ones and painted them with black gesso. You could use a black sharpie or a copic marker.

The photo above shows you  as you open the top what you see. The text is a stamp from Gummiapan Love Is Patient. I thought it was suited to this project as it's going to be something from children to their mum and it's a lovely verse. I stamped it with cocoa Memento and cut it out using Roxstamps Pierced Nesting dies and then added a matting layer underneath using Roxstamps Cross Stitched round dies.

I have also used a new die by Roxstamps to go around the text, Heart Wreath die, I cut it out in pink card from my stash and cut it in half so I could place it around the way I wanted. Fabulous die and cuts brilliantly as all Roxstamps dies do.

The papers and cardstock are all Maja Design. The papers are Sofiero and each layer I machine stitched. All the die-cuts are cut from the Maja Design coordinating pink card stock (except the heart wreath). Images are also Maja Design Sofiero. Lace, pearls and corrugated cardboard are from my stash.

This is the inside showing the top....I have just placed an image in there to show you as an example. There will be photos going in there. I can't add them as the person will see and its a surprise ssshhhh lol!

To make the frame I used Roxstamps Square Nesting Cross Stitched dies and then added acetate to use as a window.
Sorry about the photo's I have new software and this is the first time I've used it.....I'm on a learning curve with it lol.

This mini album can hold three photos....although instead of a text you could put another frame and also on the front .... so it could then hold five photos. I was happy with three, one of each child  and then a photo of them both together ;-)

The die-cuts I've used are Magnolia, I've used the feather from the Christmas Collection and the hearts are from Magnolia Doohickey Kit Volume 16 (I think). The border that says "Memories" I cut from one of the sheets of Maja Design. I love these borders from the 12x12 sheets. It's the same on both sides of the fold which is the base of the album.

This is how it folds together. I added magnets to keep it closed. The small "Love" die-cut on the front is from Magnolia's Christmas Advent Calendar, but is being released very soon and you can order it now from Swedish House Crafts. I added another heart and added the letters "Mum" are Tim Holtz from my stash. The image on the front I cut out using Gummiapan stitched rectangles as I wanted the stitching to match, and one of the rectangles is the exact size for these images.........perfect!!

That is it from me, hope you like what I've made as much as I enjoyed making it. This really was sooooooo easy to make myself with no instructions. If you follow me on pinterest you will see the original on my board.
