Storage Tip/Idea

Good evening my lovely friends....how are you all this evening. No card from me I'm afraid I thought I would give you a break lol. I've been so busy today & what time I've had I've been commenting here & there well as much as possible lol. The men went fishing tonight & the eldest was out with his girlfriend bless him tho he made me a cuppa before he went lol. So its just been me & the princess tonight....not that she has been a princess mind lol.

Anyway I thought I would show you a storage idea I had 1 of them is my old idea but I've now changed to something so I thought I would show them both. Now I dont know if someone has already thought of things like this or anything similar I'm still on a learning curve lol. Now with us crafters comes the storage issue even those with large craft spaces have storage issues. Mine is not huge but is quite big & I need to store things sensibly & use every nook & cranny lol.

This is how I used to keep all my nestie sets

Its an empty cd case & I've cut a square from a A4 Magnetic Sheet it is adhesive on one side so I just stuck it inside the cd case & then simply put my nesties onto the magnet.

Now while this is a good idea I needed something on a larger scale & something close to hand. So as I am organising my craft room at the mo I thought it was the ideal time to rethink a few things.

I have arranged things so I have an area dedicated to cutting. So all my cutting machines are all in the same place. So I ordered about half a dozen magnetic sheets. Hubby attached a piece of white melamine to the wall & then I attached all of my magnetic sheets

You can see the white melamine at the end, I ran out of sheets lol. Now you could do this on a wall or a notice board or a canvas even. You could even attach some to the side of your bookcase, this is where my next lot of sheets are going as that will be for my XXL grand dies. I dont need to find storage for the cd cases now & they are at hand & I can see easily what I've got.

The dies like this one from whiff of joy what have the plastic guide as well is easily stored the same way.

You just place the plastic guide behind the metal die & the metal die will magnetise & hold them both in place so you can still keep them together.

This is how my wall is looking so far I'm still digging out dies out of my box but only got a few more to put on now lol.

I did actually think also of making a ring binder storage by placing a couple of sheets of A4 card together & laminate it then punch holes at the side for the rings in the binder. Then attach the magnetic sheet to one side of the card, I think both sides could be too heavy then place your nesties on. You could use any size binder you want to & that would also save you quite a bit of storage. If any of you do this I would love to hear if it worked or not cus sometimes these ideas that bounce around my thick skull dont pan out lol.

Anyway hope this has maybe been a little bit useful for you. Like I said I may be way behind with this sort of thing, but I'm a kinda crafting storage virgin so to speak rofl.

Well I will go now as my hubby & sons are back home.....safe & sound might I add lol.

Simply Fairytale

Good evening peeps....actually I should say good morning as its nearly 1 0'clock in the morning lol. I've been on doing DT work & I really fancied a play just for fun & a challenge I havnt done one for over a week. So I got my lappy & looked for a sketch & found the one on Sugar Bowl. I thought well I've not played with a sugar nellie for a while maybe I'll ink up one of the sassy's that are still uninked.......wrong!!!

I made the card 1st then chose the image where normally I will colour the image & then do the card around that, I just find it easier that way & I know I will have papers to match.

So when the card was done this was the best sassy for the job lol.

I also went with the theme cus the pic inspiration is so beautiful....I'm not one for blues in the home I have never had so much as a blue wall anywhere in my home lol.....I find it a cold colour brrrrr.......lol.

Anyway here is my card.......

This is the beautiful 'Fairytale' from the Simply Sassy range......have you seen the new ones that are getting released I will have the alarm set on my internet lol. This is still my all time fave sassy tho.....I would love to see one with just the face & flowing hair cus I love them sort of images.....I have quite a few of them!!

I followed the sketch for the inside as well so its the same except it has a blank space for the message.

She is coloured with Copics & PM's, mainly copics tho. The papers are the gorgeous new Prima 'Botanical' which are just the most beautiful papers ever!!! The flowers & papers are from Crafty Emma's. Gems & doily from my stash. Lace & 2 slim white flowers are from Wild Orchid. All brown A4 card is from Papermill Direct. The punched trim at the bottom of the image is the 'French Lillies' border die from WOJ. I distressed all papers with my stressy tool & inked the edges with 'Weathered Wood' distress ink, I also inked the lillie border in it & the cut out corners as well. The flowers were also edged with the ink & then lace stickles added.

Well I'm gonna drag hubby off his Ipad & go to bed Natty is still awake but the baby monitor is on so if she starts I will just have to get back up!! Hopefully I wont take much rocking tonight lol.

The Gift........for a special friend....

Hello all you lovelies did you all have a enjoyable weekend? I am so sorry for being so late today I've had a really bad day.....lets just say if someone says goverment cut backs once more I will scream!!! My daughter leaves school this year but unfortunately she has been forgotten about by the authority & now they running out of time to find a day centre that has the appropriate nurses to be able to care for her... To be honest its typical but never mind you dont need to hear my moaning.

My card today I have done for my best friend she is having a roughty toughty time at the mo & I just want to remind her I'm always there for her.......I have made a sentiment for her card on the comp but my printer has run out of ink so I will put the sentiment on tomorrow.

My friend is like me & loves Angels she also loves black & white or black & cream, so I've gone mono which is my fave....

This is 'The Gift' which I thought was perfect for my friend as she really is my gift....we have been thru some stuff together & we still come through smiling. I think its cus we are both as crazy & nuts as each other lol.

She is coloured with Copics C7, C5, C3 & C1. I've also added silver stickles, black stickles & stardust stickles & her dress I scattered a slight dusting of glitter. The flower I made my self with lace & a button from my stash.

The silver charm & chain I got from my jewellery stash. The charm is a love heart with 'Friend' written on it.

The black rose in the corner I added stickles to. I attached 2 ribbons across the middle the bottom one is a gold toned organza ribbon & the top one is a black velvet ribbon. They are both from Crafty Ribbons who do both type of seam binding now, the modern & the vintage.

The paper I used is 8x8 La Creme Stack which you can get from Crafty Emma's & she has this on special at the minute. Its gorgeous paper the black on the top layer is gorgeous flocking. I have a also decorated the inside to compliment the front. The gems are from my stash & of course the beautiful stamp is from

Work In Progress!!!!!!!!!

Good evening my lovelies how are you all? Have you had a nice weekend I hope you have sweeties!!

Well I have no card tonight as I've been busy all day in my little hobbit (craft-room). Yesterday I ended up really ill all day apparently it was a few side effects from the sedation....it was awful I kept walking into things when I was walking & when I sat I kept falling asleep.........it was funny when I walked into stuff I would end up laughing at myself lol. So yesterday I spent the day in my jammies & by 8pm I lay in bed with hubby & spent the rest of the night watching dvd's & Jake would come in every now & again & lie on the bottom of the bed watch the film with us......it was Avatar...you dont want to know how many times we've watched it lol. So today I am feeling better so I've worked my ass off this afternoon trying to move stuff in my craft room & have a good sort out at the same time.......I didnt realise how much shoite I had I've filled a bin liner with stuff I dont want & I've only got half way thru it. Why do we keep so much tat? I hang my heed in shame!! Now I'm sitting back in the living room Craig has made me a cuppa & I'm chomping away on a wubble wecker lol......it gives me energy.....ssshhhh thats my excuse anyway it was the same excuse for the lion bar I've just had too lol.

I thought I would show you my craft room in progress now its messy & there is a big pile fo stuff in the middle of the room still to be sorted.....I have another 3 big boxes from the conservatory to take out there tomorrow. I've had enought for today tho....I've been on it since dinner time I stopped an hour for tea as hubby made it bless him. Anyway here are some piccies....

This is as you come in the doors. The pine drawers have got to be painted yet to match up with the slim metal ones. They are fab for a craft room actually as they are only £15 from Ikea & you stain, varnish or paint them how you want.

This is to the right side & this is 3 bookcases put together, which is still to be organised I'm just kinda plonking stuff on there & then rearranging as I go lol. The pile of stuff in the middle is still to be sorted...

This is the left hand side. The unit on the left was actually a beech cd unit that I brought a couple of years ago but I painted it & distressed it to go in my bedroom to hold little perfume bottles & ornaments & stuff, my bedroom is shabby chic so it went well. Now I'm going to use it to house all my stamps....they are staying in the conservatory til last lol. Craig brought me a new cd unit from Argos but it goes really well with the furniture in the conservatory so I've gave it to him for his Xbox 360 & Nintendo Wii games lol.

I have rails on the wall at the bottom to house my punches, all small punches tho are stored in the wicker basket on the bench in front.

This is my designated cutting area. The 2 slim metal drawers next to each other house all my A4 card, 1 set holds all different coloured card & the other set holds all cream & white A4 card sorted by GSM. Yes I'm one of those that likes everything to have a place & a label.....I know I'm sad lol. See my craft robo next to the cuttlebug....its hard to believe I have one of those as I dont blinking use it.....tell a lie I used it once the day hubby got it me when I 1st took up crafting......ao once in 11 months is shameful isn't it?? I am gonna try use it more tho. The slim shelves on the walls holds all my wooden block stamps....most of which are still unused!!!

I was in the middle of putting away the rest of my score boards when I took piccies lol. I finally got around to putting sticky labels on all my distress inks today I've been meaning to do it since I brought this rack about 5 months ago lol. The little drawers are from the £1 shop.......guess how much!! How did you guess that?? My jars of sweeties sit on the top lol.

This is the other end of my hobbit which is on the left as you come in the doors.....this is my designated jewellery making area. I really must start making some again I'm just enjoying paper crafting so much tho!!

This is an idea I had about a week ago I had left over poles from when I put some up in my kitchen but only had 1 pack of hooks & I didnt want to go Ikea just for hooks so I thought of a different way of attaching all my ribbons......altho I need go back Ikea anyway as I've ran out of poles...I only had 3 & all my ribbon doesnt fit on.

Before the christmas I ordered a load of these clips....cant remember the name of them. I had already a load of keyring in my jewellery stash so I cable tied the keyring to the poles (yes I raided hubby's shed for the cable ties lol) I then started folding my ribbons & putting the clips on them & then hooking them onto the keyrings. I'm not very good at explaining sometimes so it might be better if you just click on the piccy to enlarge lol.

This is the last piccy this is a pearl bracelet & earrings that I make to symbolise Lung Cancer, I sell them to raise money for Roy Castle Foundation which is the only charity totally dedicated to Lung Cancer alone. If you click on the pic to enlarge you will just be able to make out the name what I call them.

Actually I will put another pic on to show you better.

So this is now the last pic lol. With every bracelet brought I give away a pair of earrings. They are all made with white imitation pearl & crystal beads & with 'Hope' charms attached. On the tag which I made & printed myself is the name of the jewellery. The lung cancer jewellery is called 'Joro Gems' the Joro represents 2 important people....the JO are the 1st 2 letters of my dad's name John, who lost his fight against this disease 21/2 years ago....the RO are the 1st 2 letters of my brother's name Robert who is still fighting this disease, he is just 34 years old. They both had different types of lung cancer, my dad unfortunately had the worst kind....the most progressive kind. My brother however has the slowest growing 1. The one my brother has is not even caused by smoking its from scarring on his lungs...well thats what they think anyway!!

So the JO & RO came together as 'Joro Gems'.

Well thats my craft room in progress I will post piccies of the finished thing & if I think of any more storage idea's or tips I will post them on. I love my ribbon storage they used to be in big plastic drawers on wheels that went under the bench but they were that full I never saw half of what I had.....it was sometimes whatever I grabbed 1st. We are hopefully going back Ikea this week to get Natalie's wardrobe I've seen such a gorgeous big wardrobe in there that will go floor to ceiling its very yummy....while I'm there I will get more poles lol. I've also finally found wallpaper for my Jakes bedroom & Natalie's bedroom they are lush its took me 5 months to find Natalie's cus I'm so fussy & got it off the internet the same as Jake's as soon as he saw his he got me to order it straight away incase they sold out lol. I will show you a quick peek they only got delivered yesterday......so can carry on with Natalie's room this week.

This is Jake's which is perfect for a teenage boy....I love it!!

This is Natalie's but let me tell you its soooo more beautiful IRL the silver is all glittery so it really sparkles when the light catches it.......she has her own bit of bling on the wall....honeslty its nearly as gorgeous as my princess...

CES DT Card..........Some more Kenny K for you

Good morning again.....its me.....you guessed it was didnt you???? Or did you peek & see me peeksking round the corner?

Well it is wet & miserable today up here in the NorthEast.....really yukky.....I'm hoping it stops soon tho as I have a lot of stuff to move back into my craft room I want to get it finished cus at the mo my stuff is here there & everywhere.....which just does my little head in lol....

We loved seeing all of your cute & cuddly last week over at CES Challenges altho some may not know what cute & cuddly is as we got a wee bit confused when we had cake entries.....

Anyway this week it is the lovely Jane to choose the theme & it isssss.....

Spots & Stripes.

So get out those stripies & spotties & head them over to us girlies we will sure love seeing them.

I chose to do another Kenny K card but this time I merged 3 digi images together...,dontcha just love digi's I wish all companies did them to be honest as much as I love stamping you can do so much more with digi's.

Anyway here is my card..........

I have used 2 of the older images, I've not used them for so long & I've used one of the latest ones. I loaded all my KK girlies up so I could choose the best 3 that would look great in this stance.....this pretties won.

They look fab dont they. From the left you have 'Troublemaker'( who I decided had hair inside her hood cus when you have long hair & you put your hood up you can always see the hair at the sides, I did it the other day with my Bench one lol) In the middle you have 'ClubKid', I think this has become my fave & I will def be using her again. Lastly on the right you have 'Download Diva' who I think is sooo pretty. They have all been coloured with Copics & then I cut around the image so I could then pop them on foam squares to make them pop a bit. If you look at the pic above I actually cut a strip of blue of another piece of paper so I could 3D it & make them look as they were standing on it....not bad for someone who sedation in them.....yes I had to rush this one last night!!

The paper is just 1 sheet of the gorgeous Prima - 'Annalee'. The flower on the front is supposed to be white but I added some spots to it & put a prima gem in the centre. I added bakers twine along the top & criss crossed it & put a bow made out of lovely seam binding & added a gem to the middle. All of these except the binding you can get from Crafty Emma's store. The scalloped card is also from Emma's.

Inside is decorated to compliment the front. This is a slighty larger flower & already came with spots on.

I love the writing that goes along the top I just love what it reads - 'Time with friends is the best way to spend the day', unfortunately day wouldnt fit on lol.

I am quite pleased with how this turned out cus it was a rush & my head just wasn't thinking properly I'm stupid enough without sedation lol.

Sweet Stampin' DT Card............Red, White & Blue

Good morning all you lovelies hope you are all fit & well for those that aren't I'm sending Get Well wishes & hugs to you. Thankyou to everyone who left me messages & e-mails regarding my hospital visit. I am back home now feeling rather groggy from the sedation but never mind. My test for my bowel came back clear & altho I still have to suffer constant pain every day while they investigate my kidneys & abdomen my bowel has nothing sinister going on......the tiny cancer growths stayed away woo hoo. It kinda puts things into prospective really lol....I'm not one to moan about illnesses & stuff anyway I look at what other people go through & just thank my lucky stars.

Anyway its been such an hectic week I have managed to do all my DT work....well just about lol altho I've had no time to just play for me but hopefully once I've caught up with all your lovely blogs then I will play. In between sorting my craft room lol.

Right onto my post which is for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin this week. It is of course Team Fluff's turn to inspire you this week & we have a colour theme........

Red, White & Blue

Now I have to admit this colour threw me a little, I will work with any colours from pastel to bold, from dark to light & even mono & sepia, but I've never used these 3 colours together so to top it off I did a male card as well.......yeah push them boundaries lol.

Of course you will know who this guy is....he is 'Huge Hero' from Kenny K. I've had this image so long & not used him so when I saw what this weeks challenge was he was the natural choice for me.

My mojo really had done a fly away when I did this so plzzzzzzz excuse the colouring. He is coloured with Promarkers.....I think & the shading on the blue was done with Prisma!!! Sedation has made my brain like cotton wool....ye I know it was like that before!!

The stars I made myself then added letters cut out using my Tim Holtz die to spell 'DAD'. The card was also made for Cards For Men who want 2 paper - check, 1 image - check & 3 embellishments - check. I've made the 3 stars as my embellishments.

The papers are from Bearly Mine Volume 3 CD & the striped ribbon is from my stash & I cant remember where it was originally from........now I've sorted my ribbons into better storage I can see what I've got & I didnt realise all what I had lol.....dontcha just love it when that happens lol.

Inside is decorated to compliment the front altho in hind-sight maybe I should of used the same shape for the inner panel on the front but never mind its done now.

Crafty Purple Frog DT card...

Hello all you lovelies out there....yayyy its nearly the end of the week thank goodness. Well I've still not even got half way thru sorting my craft room I'm reorganising everything & thinking up better storage. I have done my ribbons & done better storage which is fabulous however it took me over 3 hours to do it all & now I've ran out so need go back Ikea for more as I still have lots of tibbon to sort thru......not sure about the lace tho. I have only been doing this for 11 months how do you all manage when you have been doing it a few years where on earth do you put all your accumalated stuff......honestly my mind is getting stretched to the maxi thinking the best ways to maximise storage...I have got a few clever ideas but I'm open to any more if you have any suggestions peeps lol.

Anyway this was supposed to be a short post would you believe lol I started my meds today to prepare me for the test tomorrow & they have made me really ill.....I'm also not allowed to eat anything from 4pm today aaargggghhhh. I have come to the conclusion that the NHS are trying to KILL me they are starving me & giving me drugs to make me ill..........they are bad people lol.....I hope they give me a bacon buttie in the recovery room after lol.....fat chance of that tho!!!

Anyway I'm gonna get on with this post I am mega mega late so I'm really sorry & I've only took 1 piccy which again I'm so sorry :0(

My mojo ran off in a sulk yesterday its hiding in one of the million of drawers in my hobbit lol so I'm sorry about the card!!!!

Isn't she purrrdddyyy... The papers are from Crafty Emma's which are the gorgeous Websters Pages....these are made for stroking lol. The pink beautiful seam binding which I twisted is from the enormously talented Rachel thank you so much again sweetie mmwah. Go over to her blog I got a huge bruise on my chin where my jaw hit the floor....it really hurts!! lol. The flower is from my stash as are the gems. The card I actually coloured with Promarkers cus as my craft room is looking like an araqi war zone I am crafting inside still with stuff that hasnt gone out yet. Unfortunately I took all my coloured card out to the hobbit & just left my self with all the cream & white A4 card inside.......hopefully it will look nice afterwards & it will be more organised, I like everything to have a place & with a label lol.

Crafts & Me DT Card........Come Fly With Me......

Well good morning all you lovely peeps sorry about that you know when a tune comes into your head as you are typing.....its a good job you cant hear me singing it tho.......dogs are howling!!!!!

Anyway before I start with my post I want to sincerely appologise if I'm late getting around to your blogs I have such a busy week. I'm moving back into my craft room so a lot of my stuff is packed up, its also my busiest week for DT work.....I have 5 cards to do.... Also I'm in hospital on Friday for sedation for a yukky cancer test....I had a trace of it 3 years ago & because I'm in so much pain everyday they want to check it....its a horrible test I hate it so from now til friday I'm on a special diet.....blurrrrrrrr yuk!!! So I have so much to do before Friday morning......trust me to pick this week to move back into my ickle hobbit......not the brightest bulb in the box am I lol.

Crafts & Me Challenges

This week our lovely Amy has picked the theme & its my fave actually even tho I only made it last night at a rush lol. I got my DT pack yesterday from Teresa & I've been wanting a stamp for sooooo long but everytime I missed out it would be out of stock....well its in now & I got it in my DT pack woo hoo.

So I've used it on this weeks challenge which is......

'Things With Wings'

This is 'Hiding' by Molly Harrison which is only available at Crafts & Me.

She is coloured with Copics, I wanted to keep her skin light & pale which I think suits her cus of the colours I've done her in. I added little dusting of glitter to her wings. The frame behind her I used a Marianne die on A4 purple card & then sprayed it with CC spray & shine to give it a slight sheen.

The bling I got for crimbo so not sure where its from sorry peeps. The flowers are from.... ooohhh bugga I forgot..............The seam binding is however from Ribbon Girl.

The paper is a digi from Crafty Chaos. AH-AH wait the flowers come from Crafty Emma's I have darkened them with a mulberry promarker so they were a darker purple to match my card the buds are still the same colour tho. Oh & the scalloped card is also from Emma's.

Some Candy Just For You

Hello everyone. I have been greeted today by a delivery van & a box.....it was of course my things I had ordered from Sir Stamp-A-Lot.....I was soooo excited. I'm like a kid at crimbo when I get crafty goodies lol. Anyway I couldn't even remember what I had ordered cus it was just after crimbo & I didnt read that they didnt open until the 8th January so its been a long wait. I had ordered a couple of Magnolia stamps as they were half price but unfortunately I only got 1 cus the others were out of stock. Anyway I also ordered 'Flying Angel' Tilda from the crimbo 2010 collection.....well I totally forgot I had won it in a candy off the fabulous Marley, thanks again sweetie. So when the new 1 arrived today I thought why not pop it on here for my lovely followers, its kind of a thankyou for following me & for all your wonderful comments, I really do appreciate them soooo much. However I didnt just want to offer you 1 stamp so as I only got 1 other Magnolia stamp today I have put that in. I'm also having a sort out of my stamps cus I have such a huge pile that have not even been inked so I've added 2 more stamps....so here they are.

There are only 4 stamps you get a Popcorn Crafters Companion stamp, Tilda Animal Keeper, Tilda Flying Angel & a Whiff Of Joy Willow with Bread. I have put a pic of Willow underneath so you can see which one it is....

There will also be a surprise Sweet Pea Stamp in as well......that I am keeping as a surprise until you get the package.
