Shey - Crafts & Me Challenges

Good morning everyone. Well my kiddies are back at school today :0( so everything is getting back to normal altho I still have my eldest Ben at home cus he has took a weeks holiday from work, altho he is sitting with his Ipad glued to his hand lol.

Anyway onto this weeks challenge over at Crafts & Me it is time for a new challenge, thank you to everyone who joined our last challenge. This week our challenge is

Paper Tearing...

You can tear it a little or go wild & tear it lots. Whiff Of Joy are sponsoring us for this challenge & they are offering 1 of their new January release stamps to the winner.

This is 'Nora Blowing Kisses' aint she just the cutest......to be honest I'm more of an Henry fan, hubby got me a few WOJ stamps for crimbo from Crafts & Me which I was quite surprised about & another Henry was in there so watch out for him this week lol.

Here is my card for the Tearing challenge & I've used another digi image that were released just before crimbo.

This is the pretty 'Shey' which you can get here I love digi stamps the sheer fact you can have them any size you want is just fab. 'Shey' has been coloured with Copics with a sprinkling of glitter on her fur around her clothes. She was soooo easy to colour.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts & have also had that sprinkling of glitter. I cant remember where the leaves are originally from I forgot I had them its only cus I went into my green flower jar that I found them. Yes I'm a very organised person lol, everything is labelled & stored in tubs or jars or drawers & boxes lol.

The scrolls I used a scroll die from a Marianne set, the scroll is actually comes with the frame I used in an earlier project. Yes it also got attacked by glitter lol. My sewing machine also made an appearance altho we did have a few words with each other....I got very stressed cus things kept happening it was fine at first then it all went to pot when the thread ran out. Anyway it was not the machines fault it was actually the poppy cotton I replaced it with....yes appologies were made, I've promised to use him more!!

The sentiment is from here & it comes in a set of 9 sentiments which are cushion mounted & come in a cd case so mine are slotted in with my magnolia's cus they all get stored in cases.

The paper is 'Annalee' Prima & is from here.

I distressed the edges with my scissors as I wanted little tears & a rougher edge than what you can get with the tool. I also inked the edges with 2 distress inks, 'Tea Dye' & 'Bundled Sage'.

The card layer the image is on & the sentiment have both been ripped, altho I did cheat & use my Wescot tearing ruler which has been neglected for months lol. The gems are from my stash.

My first post for Crafts & Me.....Forever Rose

Good morning, altho by the time I've finished typing it will be afternoon lol. I want to say a huge Thank you to everyone for all your kind comments & messages my eyes filled up a few times yesterday I tell ya, you are all awesome in every single way...huge hugs to each of you <>

Well I did my 1st ever posting over at Crafts & Me I was so nervous my ickle fingers were shaking when I was typing. I did remember not ot babble on like I do in posts on my blog so hopefully I havn't bored anyone lol.

I will put my creation on here now for you all to see. I am using 'Forever Rose' digi stamp by Hannah Lynn again which you can get here. I love this digi image I think she is so beautiful but the main reason I've done this 1 again is just to show how versatile she is....& how many looks she can have...

I have made something different & this I will also be doing a tutorial for very soon...I will keep the chit-chat to a mininum as there are a lot of piccies lol.

On the tissue box I layered the image with extra thick embossing powder & a wee bit of glitter & cracked it here & there.... it also helps protect the image I think. I wish you could see how truly beautiful this image looks IRL. She is coloured with Promarkers & Sakura gel pen to the rose to add a bit more sparkle lol.

Its for my step-mum to say thanks for all she does for us so below is the thank you verse thats on the other side of the box.

I have embossed around the top to help protect the card when pulling tissues out, it was embossed with Lilac embossing powder whcih you can get from here of course!!! Told you I loved this shop lol. By the way the Mother's Day pink embossing powder is so pretty & delicate just thought I would tell you cus b4 we know Mothers Day will be here!!!

Good evening my lovelies, hope you are all fine & dandy I certainly am as dandy as can be. I should really tell you my news, I have kept this in since just before crimbo & I ready to burst.....

KER-BOOOOOOM

he heee heee.

I would of posted earlier but I got rather engrossed in the tv which is extremely rare for me but I've been waiting since last year for my 2 uttermost want to see shows. Last night it was the fantastic Diversity whose dancing I am in awe of & tonight was 'Got to dance'....2 hours of it....fantabulous. For those who watched how fabulous was that 1st woman to get up in front of millions of viewers & just dance the way she wanted to dance was awesome & hubby & Jake laughed at me cus I ended up crying but I love it when someone is not what is expected but just goes ahead & does it cus its their passion.....uniqueness is beautiful & we are all unique in our own little way but to show that uniqueness is something else... If I ever see her in a dance club I will gladly & tearfully give her the biggest hug & dance with her. I take my dancing quite seriously I love it its my utter passion I was offered a job doing it in a big nightclub but I just didnt think I would have the time especially with having a disabled daughter so I declined....but it sure was a big compliment.

Right anyway now its my blooming tongue thats dancing away....gab gab gab gab!!!

Just before crimbo my santy came early but not in the form of a man but a fabulous Miss Santy. Out of the blue I received an e-mail from the fantabulous Teresa from Crafts & Me offering me a position on her amazingly awesome DT........WOW she could of knocked me down with a feather!!! I absolutely love that shop.....its my fave shop I love the stamps cus they are so different to the normal cute & I love things that are different. Ever since I stumbled across this absolutely fabulous blog not long after I started crafting, she had posted a card with a Sweet Pea Stamp on it....wow I went straight over to Crafts & Me & ordered 4 & I've been hooked ever since The shop is fabulous, the service is fantastic, the range is extraordinary & delivery is fast..........what more could you ask for?? I have always admired this DT & now to be on it, well its like a dream come true & I am soooo extremely grateful to Teresa & the DT for having me on board & I hope I deliver the best for you....I will certainly try my best. Thank you thank you thank you.

Come along tomorrow where I will be posting my 1st creation for them, wish me luck I am soooo nervous!!

Teresa has put a call out for some international ladies to apply for DT, she is wanting people from countries other than UK to be on her fabulous DT. Amy who is my boss over at Crafty Purple has absolutely wonderful things to say about Teresa being her boss & the rest of the girlies on the DT have been with since she started so that tells you how great Teresa is & how great the team is. Does this sound like something you would be thrilled & honoured to craft for....then pop yourself over to here & apply.

I am sooo honoured & thrilled to work for Teresa & I am extremely grateful, my 2 fave shops are Crafts & Me & Sweet Pea Stamps they are both amazing.

Telsa......clean & simple!!!

Well good morning all you lovely jubblies out there. Do you know what all the snow has nearly gone woo hoooooo.......my ickle car is coming out this week I've missed her.

Well did you all have a good new year or should I ask how many of you are suffering & saying 'I'm never doing that again'? We dont go out or do anything now cus up until 3 years ago both myself & my hubby were DJ's so it was us providing everyone else with a good night, sometimes we would be at different venues to each other but most of the time I wouldn't take any bookings so I could help hubby with his & we would always dance the final dance together whcih would be 2am in the morn.......really shouldn't of done that job in 3 inch heels!!!

Anyway I have made no New Year resolutions me & hubby gave up smoking 18 months ago yayyyy & I spend as much time with my family as I can.....& we all have a least 1 cuddle a day, at the least & tell each other we love each other.....to me this is more important than anything....what else could I need!!! Altho I could maybe say I will spend less on crafting this year but as I havn't been crafting a year I will leave that one for next year tee heeee!!!

Well I thought I would start the new year with a new style of card....for me anyway lol. They would of been posted last night but I've got a new package on my lappy & couldn't crop them & went in a sissy fit, so they havn't been cropped I'm afraid lol.

Here we go with the 1st which I couldn't believe how hard it was....

Yes a clean & simple card.....wow these are hard the things I wanted to put on this but couldn't!! Can you believe 'No Stamping' at all.....sorry for the poopy piccy!!

For this I used the fab freebie of the very talented Teri from Delicious Doodles added a gem to each side & then put gold stickles in the large numbers. I think its one of those sentiments that could be used on its own or with a piccy.

I am nearly out of this lushious ribbon which is really lush IRL.

Ok so here is card numero 2......

I have followed a sketch for this one which is here...

To be honest I think this is another CAS card, not as CAS as the one above but its certainly simple compared to what I normally do lol.

This is 'Telsa' by Nikki Burnette & you can get her from Sweet Pea Stamps & Crafts & Me. This is one of my new stamps from when I hubby brought me lots of Sweet Pea stamps.....I have a box now with all my stamps that I've still not inked.....you dont want to see how many is in there, its shocking & I've just brought 2 more hanglars.....its not my fault I think I have a problem, its an addiction but at least its an healthy 1!!

The image is coloured with Copics & Promarkers....more Copics tho. I coloured her in sepia tones altho I did colour her skin in normal colours. I also lavished it in a few layers of extra thick embossing powder & then gave it a cracked distressed look with the help of 'Tea Dye' distress ink. The frame is a Marianne die which I found yesterday in my stash, I completely forgot I had it & it wasn't quite big enough for the image & as I had already done the image & embossed it I just cut 2 frames & glued them together.....I think it works well tho!!!

I added gold stickles to the rose & to the Doo Hickey flowers, I also added glittery embossing powder on the last layer when embossing the image to make it sparkle. The doo hickey flowers were inked with 'Walnut' & 'Vintage Photo' distress inks.

I also made this card for In A Sweet Pea Dream who wants 'Ribbons & Bows'....my ribbon is from a crimbo cracker, I saved them all lol. The bow is from my stash which luckily goes well. The paper is a pad I brought from Ebay & totally forgot I had so when I found this beautiful paper I just had to use it. The paper is called 'Vinatge Romance' & its by Black Market I think. The lace forming the envelope shape is from my stash, I cant remember where I got it from I'm afraid. I do quite like this card I didnt want to put much on it to distract your eye from the image also the paper is just too beautiful to cover.

Happy New Year

I have only been in blogland 8 months but you have all made me feel so welcome so I want to say thankyou & send you great big hugs. I feel very privileged & honoured that you follow me. I have made so many friends in blogland that even tho I havn't met them they are a part of my family & I love them dearly.

Thankyou for all your wonderful comments which really do mean the world to me & help me carry on with what I love to do. Thank you also for inspiring me I love each & everyone of your blogs, you are all fabulous & very talented & I love ya's.

So I would like to wish you a Happy New Year & may you all be blessed with love, health & happiness during 2011, the 3 most important things in life!!

Scooter Boy..............Also A Sneak Peek!!!!!!

Good evening all, altho I really should say morning again its early hours!!! Welcome to my blog to my new followers I still get so excited when I get new followers.....so big hugs to you <>

Tonights card is a card for my son Ben, he is 20 years old tomorrow, New Years Eve. I cant believe how old he is & yet it doesn't seem that long ago when they were rushing me to theatre to get him out cus his heart was failing.....so it was an emergency cesarean & he weighed in at 4 & 1/2 lbs & was rushed to special care & he is 20 years old driving & is an apprentice plumber. I love him to bits & I am sooooo proud of him & he will always be my baby.....all my kids are lol. SSSSHHHH dont tell 'em!!

So tonight is using another crimbo stamp apparently my hubby saw this at Funky Kits & brought it cus he thought it was cool lol. This card is from his sister Natalie & even tho we have brought Ben a car we also brought him his first moped at 17 & then his 1st motorbike before passing his driving test. He loves his car but misses his bike...he had a Honda NSR 125 it was a beast on 2 wheels it was lush & he loved it. So this is sort of a jokey card if you like its based on his moped but the colour of his super-bike.
Sorry about pics I was in bit of rush cus of the time so basically threw them in the light tent & forgot to crop them a bit!!! This one is even ski-whiff lol.

This is Sugar Nellie 'Scooter Boy' & you can get him here. For this card I followed the sketch over at Sugar Bowl which also has a theme of embossing. I have embossed the card the image sits on & covered the dots in chalk & also the card underneath was also embossed with my Happy Birthday cuttlebug folder. I then rubbed it over with Metallic rub ons which I got from Crafts & Me. I cut out 'Happy Birthday' with my MS punch....I think this is the 1st time I've used it since I've had it....I think anyway lol. The lettering was then coloured with Aqua Blue Promarker & then heated embossed with clear powder.

Scooter Boy was coloured with Copics but I forgot the colours I'm afraid. I've been making a few cards tonight to try get a headstart on a few DT cards for next week.

As soon as I saw the new releases I fell in love with all of them they are truly divine so come on over to here on 6th January for our new challenge & you will see the rest of the new releases. You wont want to miss it!!!

Here is a close-up isn't she really beautiful......this has to be my all time fave I love it!!!! The card behind her has been heat embossed with clear power to give it a bit of shine.....not that she needs it lol, it is then layered on lilac card.

This beautiful butterfly is from my stash, these are just gorgeous & I think I got them from Ebay.

The paper is from Bearly Mine Creations it is from the Designer Extreme cd Vol 3. This really is sooo pretty & I thought it went beautifully with this image.....the combination of this paper & this image it doesn't really call for much more but me being me I have to add me fancy pants bits lol. The design of the card is something new I've tried after being inspired by 1 of the DT girls over at Sweet Pea rubber stamps & will def be doing it again but a bit different on my next one. Well that is it for me I'm off to link this up to a fabby challenge & then I'm off to bed. Do you know I got up this morning & can actually start to see bits of grass in my back garden now....yes the snow is slowly going yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Simply Sassy or Simply Betty???????

Good evening or should I say good morning cus its actually nearly 1 0'clock in the morning lol!! I am posting 2 cards....1 of which I did last night but didn't get round to making my flowers til tonight & then I quickly made another card. I got a ton of stamps for crimbo & I thought I would I would do all my Sugar Nellie 1s then all my Kraftin Kimmie 1s & WOJ 1s etc etc but I thought you might get bored or is it I may get bored.........actually do you know what forget what I've just said its total dribble!! How can we EVER get bored of any stamps.......unless its a 1st class stamp by Royal Mail lol...altho they are cheaper.....4 now!!!!

Right enough of my dribble-drabble 1st I want to show you another of my Sugar Nellie stamps this is 1 I got from Santy.

For this card I followed the challenge on Sketch & Stash & you can choose any sketch from their catalogue.

I went with Sketch 13.

Here is 'Pillow Talk' from Sugar Nellie. She is coloured with Promarkers. The paper is Websters Pages which you can get from Crafty Emma's, the border through the middle was made using my MS punch. All card is from Paper Mill Direct. The corners are from Ebay & gems from my stash.

This is a close-up of my flower which was made by moi, it was all coloured with Pastel Pink & then edged with 'Tea Dye' distress ink. I have added a tutorial page now to my blog & there will be tutorials going on very soon....I am currently working on them.

Onto my next card. For this card I have followed a colour challenge....my fab teamie from CES Julie chose the colour combo & made a fabulous DT card for this challenge before crimbo & I really wanted to play along cus the colour combo is just gorgeous & a new one for me.....I do like to keep pushing outside my comfort zone lol.

The challenge is 'Plum & White' with the optional extra of 'Frames'

Say hi to another sassy chic...this is 'Betty' from Kraftin' Kimmie & you can get her from 1 of my fave shops Crafts & Me. My step-mum brought me about a dozen Kraftin Kimmie stamps for crimbo which came as a pleasant shock lol. Sorry about the pic I had to quickly change the backing in the photo tent cus the card dissapeared into the white backing lol...the camera has picked up some of the glitter dots which is what you can see on the image. She is coloured with Copics & Promarkers & her stockings have been covered with Diamond Sparkles....I have to say I am preferring the copics I love their nibs they are perfect for finer details & I prefer to use them when doing hair especially. The only thing is getting used to the colours & what can be used with what.....but I'm getting there lol.

The image has been coated with clear embossing powder a couple of times & zapped with my heat gun. The only thing with doing this is it makes the colours darker. The frame was also heat embossed as well.

The tulle is from my stash & I made the hat pin that goes into the tulle myself using beads from my jewellery stash & the flowers are from here. All card is from Paper Mill Direct (see above card for link). I love the plum coloured card I think it looks gorgeous & I forgot I had it.

The shape of the card was made using my grand nesties in my Grand Calibur which was an early pressie from santy lol. I love these new shapes that we can do its soooo much easier now with the calibur....I love love love it!!!!!

My Top 10 Cards of 2010

Hello all you lovely peeps. I hope you all had a fabulous crimbo with your families & I hope santy brought you lots of goodies. I had a fabby 1, I had a house full to cook for there was the 5 of us then my sons girlfriend, my step-mum & my brother-in-law...& I had a buffet to cook for everyone too!!!

I got VERY spoilt for crimbo I didn't know which stamp to ink up 1st lol.

Anyway over on this lovely blog they are wanting your Top 10 of 2010....well I didnt start making cards til March & set up this blog in April so its not a full year but here is my pick.....hubby helped too lol.

Starting in order of favourites.....

My daughter's birthday card....above is the outside & below is the inside...its based on a theme of a fairytale book.

This Skull 1 is just different so anything I've done & I absolutely love it!!!!

My fave crimbo card had to be to my hubby it turned out just the way I wanted....it looks sexy like him!!

My 1st step card & I was really pleased with how it turned out.

OK OK so I cant count & there is actually 11 but I tried soooo hard.....a lot of my cards I dont like but these I just love & I think it shows a good variety. I have however noticed there my main favourites are ones with Sweet Pea images on, I absolutely love them they are just sooo different to the cute ones & they are much more versatile & while I love Magnolia....Sweet Pea are becoming my ultimate fave!!! Also my fave style of card is of course the easel card......can you tell ? lol
