A Gift For Christmas from SHC

Hello everyone are you ready for the big jolly fella in red? No I'm not either but I'm still getting excited even though I have 101 things to do lol.
Before I tell you what I've made I just want to point out some new Roxstamps dies I've used, I've used two new ones and one of them is in the picture above. They are like Baubles I think with stars in them, Stars Xmas Tree Ornaments they are called and I've added them as a tag kinda thing.....I love them!!

There is a gift at the end of the post! and also a link to the tutorial on how to make these boxes.

I thought I would make my 2 grandchildren a little something for Christmas Eve while they are sitting with mum anddad after their tea watching Christmas movies. They love things I make, my granddaughter is always pinching the latest card I've made and she sits them all on her window sill in her bedroom with pride.........makes me sooooo happy.

I had to use these Santa Heads as they are just perfect, I coloured them with Copics and added Flowersoft to his beard to make it fluffy. I coloured them both with red hats as little children say Santa only comes in red lol. I also added a spring underneath the head so it wobbles every time it's touched, the kids will love that part lol.

I have made little boxes to hold a bar of chocolate....the chocolate in there is not what they are getting.....if I get it now I will end up eating it lol.

There is also the other new Roxstamps die which is the Reindeer Xmas Tree Ornament hanging on the side. I cut out two.  One in co-ordinating paper from Vintage Frost and the other in white card stock and slightly off-set them. The hearts in the centre have magnets underneath to keep the box closed. The hearts were made with a die from a DooHickey Collection.

On the back of both boxes I added a sentiment from the latest Magnolia collection. The tag die is also Magnolia.

In the latest Magnolia Doohickey Collection Volume 17 (which is still available here if you want to buy it). They are excellent value for money, not only do you get a LOT of dies that you can use in various ways, you also get a Magazine with tutorials in it and inspiration.

Now if I take inspiration from someone I also say who, it's just the right thing to do. My inspiration came from the magazine, the super talented Yulis (I so want to colour like her when I grow up) I did a tutorial on how to do this scene effect like I've done on the chocolate boxes.

After I made them I thought well not everyone will have the die used on these chocolate boxes. However I then remembered I had brought a die from Swedish House Crafts about a month ago and still not used it.........yes I'm bowing my head in shame! So here is another way you can achieve this effect, I made a matching Christmas card for my granddaughter.

The photo above shows what you need.
  • Paper for the card cut to size and in the decided layout and machine sewn (optional). Houses cut from white card stock using the House Dies
  • Tiny Tree dies or I have used three leaf dies from Volume 17
  • Two pieces of white card stock the same width as your card
  • Vellum (mine is the same width as my card and the same depth as the centre paper that will lie across the middle-ish of my card)
  • Foam Pads to add dimension under the middle layer that the scene is going on. (I use cardboard packaging as its firmer)

Using one of your pieces of white cardstock cut waves into it to act like a snow. I cut two like this, you want one thinner than the other. The deeper one goes onto your paper so must be the same width as your paper/card. Glue or tape down down the bottom edge to the paper. Leave the top wavy edge free of glue.

For the houses I have used Gummiapan House dies, they are awesome, you get 5 little houses that are all individual so you can use all 5 or just use 3....depending on the scene you are creating and the size you are doing. Once you have cut your houses out arrange them as you want them, sliding the bottom of each house just under the wavy card stock you glued down first. This is why we keep the top edge free from glue, its nicer if you don't see the bottom edges of the houses.

Next take your leaves if that is what you are using and arrange them in between the houses, cut some down to make them look different heights. If you have tiny tree dies then use them but leaf dies will do the job just as well I think. Sliding the bottom of the leaf just under the top edge of the card stock. Once you are happy with the layout glue them all into position.

I then took some Enamel Accents which I've had forever and placed dots all over to act like snow is falling, this is optional. You could also use a pearl pen or even a white gel pen.

Using the thinner wavy card stock glue that onto the vellum, so that the card stock is facing up. Once this has dried and your snow drops on the paper have dried attach your vellum to the scene. I have cut my vellum to the exact size of the centre panel that I have made my scene on.

To glue it down I used tiny drops of glue from my glue gun, I did the top two corners first just using a tiny bit and then I did the bottom. Make sure the card stock you have glued on is on the top facing up. The bottom is easier as it has the card stock on the other side and this will hide any glue marks.
To help hide glue in the top two corners I then attached pearl stars which go with the scene anyway, you could even use star die cuts.

I have attached a string of pearls as I did on the chocolate boxes but this is optional. I also added more white dots on top of the vellum once it was in place as it shows up more on the vellum....so the snowfall looks as though some is close and some is in the distance.

Here it is all finished. If I'm being totally honest I do prefer the look from the Gummiapan House dies as they stand out more and I love how you can arrange them yourself, its not fixed. I am really happy with these and I'm usually very VERY critical of my own work (I think a lot of us are lol).

I used one of the super new Tildas from the Autumn Stamp Club but these are now available in Suha's store. I used "Frozen Tilda" and stamped her with versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then coloured her in with Copics.....I'm still really rusty with these lol.

I also used a sentiment from the same latest Magnolia collection and then cut it out using a Gummiapan banner die. The poinsettia I made myself using white foamiran and I added leaves using Magnolia dies. Lace is from my stash. The berries and pomegranate apples are from Swedish House Crafts.

Now if you would like to make one of these chocolate boxes then you will find a tutorial over on my blog here which I did earlier in the year. I usually add a pocket to the inside but I've kept the inside simple as they are for a 4 year old boy and a nearly 6 year old girl.

If you would like to use the same products and have a go at making one of these scenes yourself, (which are fun, I loved making these) then our lovely, generous boss Suha is giving you 5% off all the items I have used which are all linked down below so its easier for you to find. I used a LOT of items so that's quite a bundle you get a discount on ;-)

The code you need to get 5% off is O5CDMF7Y7828  it is valid until the end of December.

Thank you for staying to the end as this one was a long post lol. Hope you all have a good weekend, take care.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia

Hello there everyone & Happy Bank Holiday..........well to those who have Bank Holiday today. I'm happy to say that here by the sea its a lovely day..........now that's a rarity on Bank Holiday Monday lol.

Ok so I'm here with my DT card for Lovely Hanglar Or Sweet Magnolia Challenge, yes it should have been on yesterday but I forgot & we were at my eldest son's for BBQ......we had a fab day. I tried last night but have had a nightmare with photo's.......got quite stressed with it & felt like putting the lappy on the end of my shoe with lots of force lol.

Anyway the challenge this time is sooooooooo easy peasy, it really really is, do you wanna know.........of course you do, psst come here...

DIE-CUTS

.............see easy peasy. Just add die-cuts to your creation & enter, please remember though that the image has to be either a Hanglar or Magnolia stamp.

Now with being away on holiday its completely thrown me since I've come back to the point I could never remember the day or date lol. So I forgot about my DT card........luckily I still have quite a few cards I've not shown.
This card I made about 2 months ago I think, I brought the stamp off the fabulous Donna. However you can now get this stamp from Swedish House Crafts here.
The fabulous stamp is from the Pink Lemonade collection & is called 'Tilda In The Garden', I was after this stamp for sooooo long, then finally get it & finally make a card then forget to show it lol.
Tilda was coloured using distress ink refills but cannot remember the colours I'm afraid.
I made the bottom of her shovel look dirty as though she has been doing some work not just standing around looking pretty lol.

I used a Magnolia die for the shape of the card, yes it finally got its first use lol. Papers are Maja Design from the Nyhavn collection & were machine stitched. Dies are a mixture of Spellbinders, Marianne & Magnolia & Magnolia Doohickey collection.
Doilies & 3 lots of lace are from my stash. The little tag is Magnolia as is the sentiment on it, they come together.

Thats it from me but we hope you will join us in our challenge of Die-Cuts, remember you can enter as many times as you like.........more chances to win ;-)

We are off to The Range now...........hubster may regret this one as I love The Range, such pretty stuff for the the home in there :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

My Birthday Icing

Hello everyone how are you all?
Things are not bad here although I'm in a lot of pain with kidneys but never mind I'm thankful its nothing worse.

Ok so I told you about my birthday on Saturday & that it was literally the icing on the cake didnt I??
Well you know I lurve Magnolia products, Maja Design & Pion Design.........well on Saturday I got an email from Suha asking me to be part of the Swedish House Crafts DT.
Yayyyyyyy.
You can guess what my answer was...........a big fat YESSSSSSSSSS!!!

So here is a card I made saturday using products from Suha's store which hubster got me for my birthday.....
I have used Maja Design Vintage Summer 6x6 paper. Lace is from my stash.

Flowers are WOC. The seam binding I made myself a long time ago.

I used Rose Cake Tilda from the Boho collection stamped onto Langton watercolour coloured with distress ink refills & I added stardust stickles to her headband & parts of the cake.
The frame I made using the Roxstamps Cross Stitched nesting dies....this is the first time I've used these but this week I'm buying more. They cut brilliantly, I absolutely love them!!!
The postage stamps are done with a Magnolia stamp.

As you can see I decorated inside also as always all papers are machine stitched.
The firework in the top left corner is a Magnolia die & the cupcakes down the bottom are but they are from the latest doohickey club kit as is the banner.
You can also order Magnolia Doohickey club kits from Swedish House Crafts.

Well thats it from me that was the icing on my birthday cake. Thank you so much Suha for inviting to be part of your design team, I really am truly honoured & thrilled.

I have ordered from Swedish House Crafts a few times now & the emails after are always so so friendly & I've even had a personal hand written message inside my order when its arrived. If you get stuck or dont understand anything you can email Suha & she is pretty speedy at replying & still that friendliness is there. You really can tell things come from the heart with her which makes it all more pleasureable. You also get free shipping when you spend £25 UK, £45EU & £65 Worldwide

Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia midway post

Hello everyone how are you all?
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I am having a lovely one as it was my birthday Saturday & I had lovely pressies, crafty stuff & the best part lots of cuddle & hugs & I Love You's from my family & we spent the day together. I also had another birthday present later in the day which was the icing on the cake so to speak, yes even after I had birthday cake lol....but I will tell you about that another day ;-)

Ok so today I'm here to remind you of the challenge over at Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia & the challenge is...........ANYTHING GOES!!
The other week I got my new stamps & I coloured 2 up straight away to make a notebook for my granddaughter.
Payton loves pink, purple, glitter, tulle (ballerina's skirt), fairies & UNICORNS....yep you know what is coming dont you lol
I brought a cheap plain notebook from a shop & decorated it. I painted it with white gesso first & then started the fun part.
This is the pad I brought, its quite a thick pad so it will last her a bit........you know 5 year olds they can write 4 words on a piece of paper then start on a new piece lol.

All dies on the top of the pad except the circle & scalloped circle are Magnolia, some are from Doohickey Volume 9. However the die-cut going across the top of the pad is called 'Celebration Lace', I've had this die a while but you can get here if you would like it.

In the pocket I made a tag with a CC Designs die  & stamped just the unicorn on it & coloured it with distress ink refills & then covered it with Wink Of Stella........unfortunately it dulled it down a bit which is a shame as it looked so bright & colourful. However Payton still liked it & the tag can be used as a book mark for her reading book. I cut & glued 2 tags together to make it nice & firm.

Both Magnolia stamps are from the I Believe In Unicorns collection, I stamped together 'Unicorn Tilda' & 'Unicorn With Text' with my Tim Holtz stamping platform.........OMW that thing is fantastic & so much better than my other one.
I cannot remember which watercolour paper I used, it was either Daler Rowney or Langton. I coloured them with distress ink refills & added stardust stickles to the unicorns hoofs, horn & hair & to Tilda's hair ribbons, hearts & buttons.
I also added pearl dots with a pearl pen. I cut them out using LLLC Stitched circle die & then backed it onto circle & scalloped circle cut out with spellbinder dies.

Papers used are from one of my favourite collections, Maja Design Vintage Summer & I used a mixture of 12x12 & 6x6 paper. All was distressed a little & machine sewn, I added lace form my stash & some pink Melissa Frances Tulle which I've had for soooo long. I also added a string of ivory pearls along the top & the top of the tulle.
I added cheese clothe & corrugated cardboard painted with white gesso under the image & the letters spelling out the name are from Pion Design.
I added lots of lace & waxed string the binder rings at the top of the pad & added 2 charms, the one on the top of the pad says 'Believe' & I added a charm to the tag of a fairy. So this pad has all of Payton's favourites & she loved I'm pleased to tell you.

Well thats it from me, hope you will join us in our chalelnge, you can enter as many times as you like..........yes 20 times if you wish, we love seeing your creations thats why there is no limit.....psst also you inspire us ;-)

Come back tomorrow for my fabulous birthday icing lol.
Tatty bye & thank you so much for stopping by.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Noor Design UK Challenge

Hello everyone we are away in the caravans this weekend the whole family so I'm hoping this has published.

Its the first of the month..........July can you believe it.....where is this year going??
Anyway 1st of the Month means a new challenge over at Noor Design UK & this month is easy peasy lemon squeezy :-)

DIES

...........see easy peasy right!!

I didnt go die mad for this one, simply because I ran out of time making my other card so used this back up I had made just incase I didnt have time finish the other thing....wow what a lot of babble lol. Anyway here is my DT card.
Still havnt got my light area set up so excuse the pics peeps.
I've used Pion papers & a Pion image, for all links go to the bottom of the post.
The image is from My Dearest Sofia 'Images From The Past'. I cut it out using a circle die & attached it behind a Wycinanka chipboard frame. I then glued pearl trim around the centre & added pearl dots using a pearl pen, white & pink.
I love the effect the pearls have added to this frame.

As always I've decorated the inside. The die cuts along the top & bottom of the centre piece are from Magnolia Doohickey Kit Volume 9.

I've machine stitched all around the edge of the papers. All flowers are WOC & the die-cut leaves I used 2 dies, one is a Magnolia die that coame with Lemon Tree Tilda & the other a Rosy Owl die. Also added 2 tassels using the Marianne tassel dies.
I also added some pretty lace & a charm & added a bit of glitter to the centre. I also added a couple of bows using organza ribbon from my stash & addeda brad to the centre.

Well thats it from me, hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia DT Card

Hello everyone hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
We are at my sons having a BBQ today at his new house as we helped move them last weekend...hubster even brought a new dress to wear ooohhhh fancy shmancy lol.
So I'm hoping this post has published......

Today starts a new challenge over at Lovely Hanglar Or Sweet Magnolia & the theme this month is.........
A Special Date.....i.e Birthdays, Christening, Anniversary etc

...........super easy right!!!
I have used one of the super duper new stamps from Magnolia.......I lurve these & love the dies. Though I didnt bother with the Star Wars themed ones as I'm not  into Star Wars at all!!! I can hear people now screaming 'WHAT!!!!!!' lol yep sorry peeps.....
This is a birthday card for my daughter Natalie, she is 25 on 6th June.......can you believe that .........25!! So this is a card off her younger brother...........though when my granddaughter saw it yesterday she told me she really REALLY loved it & wanted take it home put it in her new bedroom lol.

I made a bow with this ribbon I've had in my stash for ages & cannot remember where it was originally from.....I want to say Live & Love Crafts. The button in the centre I made with a circle of paper punched from some Pion paper & a glass cabochon was then glued in place.....I usually use the apoxy resin ones but I do have a few glass ones for when I want an extra special touch ;-)
You can also see Tim Holtz doily die peeking out there as well.

So the fabulous stamp is 'Jeans Tilda' from the Denim range. I stamped her onto Fabriano & coloured her with distress ink refills. The pocket watch I made a long time ago with a mould I have in my stash.
I cut Tilda out with a CC Design Tag die & then I used the 'Denim' ring from the Magnolia Denim Tag here.

I have used Magnolia dies for the 2 tags in the pocket, 1 will be saying Sister on it & the other is a Birthday Recipe stamp from LOTV. The seam binding is one I died myself a while ago.
The butterfly is from my stash which I've had for a looooong time.

The papers are a new pad I got recently & its sooooooo pretty, its from Craft & You & is called 'Beautiful Day',I've used the 6x6 pad but will be getting the 12x12 as well now lol. As you can see I've decorated inside & machine stitched as always.
The laces running up the side are from my stash & I also added some cheesecloth.

This photo I took on my conservatory window sill, we have had such beautiful weather this week that I actually had a day sitting outside once all my cleaning was done.......Natalie sat in the conservatory next to the double doors as she wasnt quite well enough go out that day. Though she is doing much better thankfully. Its harder to craft in the nice weather as you just want to be out enjoying it with the family dont you....

Please pop on over to see my uber talented teamies creations & we hope you will join us....remember you can enter as many times as you want.........so you know what that means dont you!! More chance at the prize & more chances to get the fabulous top 3 award.

Deep Ocean Challenges DT Card

Hello again everyone I'm here again today with my 2nd DT card this time for Deep Ocean challenges.
If you want to see my Tutorial Tuesday post for Noor Design UK then scroll down or click here.

So the new challenge this fortnight is one I loved.......
FLOWERS EVERYWHERE
..........flowers flowers everywhere.......in my garden or in my hair lol. Yeah ok I love flowers but no need for silliness lol.....weeeeeelllll maybe just a little lol.

Ok I made this card at the weekend & sooooo enjoyed making it, it uses all my favourite things, Maja Design, pastel colours & shabby chic..........what more is there lol.
.....oh yes & new dies, whats more is new Fantasy dies from Noor Design UK.....oh my I love them all & must have more lol.
The shape of the card was made using a Go-Kreate die.........at least I think it is as when I went ot find the die I cannot find it on their site ;-/
One of the new Fantasy dies I've used is the 'Magic Lace' die going along the side........its a long die so the bits I cut off I added one part to the top & another to the other side.....you can just see them peeking out under the tulle.

All flowers are WOC & I've added pomegranate apples in there & a bow made with organza ribbon & heated up so it shriveled a bit.
Just under the seam binding bow I've used another Fantasy die called 'On The Wings Of Love'.....you get 2 dies in this set a Heart which I've also used & the other die is a Wing which is what I've used down here at the bottom.

The beautiful image I cut from the 'Ephemera' sheet & then cut it out using Fantsy Stitched Rectangles die, the 2 layers underneath I also cut out using a larger fantasy stitched dies & then added my own stitching to them also.

Here are more flowers, organza ribbon & Fansy Dies....the heart is at the bottom & the piece cut off the border die is peeking out at the top.
I also added a Butterfly from my stash. The leaves were cut out using a Magnolia die that came with Singapore Tilda from the Stamp & Cutz collection.....yep another stamp I still havnt inked :-(

So the gorgeous pretty papers are of course Sofiero by Maja Design & I've used 'The Magnificient Flowerstreet''Exuberance Of Flowers In Bloom' & for the leaves I've used 'The Elegant Winehouse'. I've only very slightly distressed them & machine sewn around all the edges & as always decorated inside to compliment the front.
We have bows made with seam binding form my stash & a charm from my stash. The bling in the centre is the gorgeous Button Lauren Pink from Noor Design UK.

Come back tomorrow as I have a card made using a fabulous new brand.......new for me that is....pop back to see it tomorrow ;-)

Thanks for stopping by, hope you will join us for our flower challenge this fortnight....,can be pictures of flowers if you want just like the fabulous talented Gretha has doen with her card...pop over to Deep Ocean to check it out as well as all my other teamies creations ;-)

Tatty bye lovelies
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

For You Happy Birthday & DT Call

Hellooooo there all you lovely people around the world, how are you? Hope you are having a fabberooney weekend.

I'm here today with a card I made as soon as I got the new Sofiero papers by Maja Design.........oh I'm soooooooo unbelieveably happy these are not limited edition anymore & they also come in 6x6 & images.....wow how much more excitement can this girl take....ok get a grip Vicky ;-)
When the papers arrived after much MUCH stroking & smelling....yes smelling come on girls we all have to have a smell of our papers..........especially good quality ones....oh my.....
Anyhoo I had this image in my coloured up box (with many more lol) thatwent perfectly & I still hadnt used a certain die since I brought it........problem rectfied ;-)
Pretty pastel shabby chic card with Maja & Maggie today........AKA 'In My Element' thats what cards like this mean ;-)
Do you see the flowers down the bottom, well the leaf die is also a new die........ok not new I brought it last year from Noor Design UK & then totally forgot about it.....I found it in a tub with some other new dies still unopened......ooops.

As always I've decorated inside to compliment the front, I thought I would show you properly as I've covered up a LOT so you cant see lol. The only difference is instead of using half pearls on the doily like I did at the front, I've used a pearl pen....this way the pearl dots dont protrude am much as what half pearls would.
The die is a Magnolia die & the doily is form my stash.
Paper is the Sofiero 6x6 pad which you can get from Noor Design UK along with ALL the 12x12 collection & the co-ordinating Monochromes which go so so beautifully with these papers.....they are double sided but the other side is a slightly different colour..........also let me tell you they are sooooo much more beautiful in real life they really are.
Click here to view the collection.

I've made 2 bows with seam binding I dyed myself, love how well they blend with the colours on the card especially the pink with the rose.....they were not dyed for these papers I dyed them a while ago but luckily they go perfectly lol.
Lace is from my stash & all flowers are WOC from Noor Design UK.

The image is called Magnolia & is called 'Tilda Working In The Garden' & she is from the Spring Fever 2016 collection.
She was stamped onto Fabriano & coloured with distress ink refills & maybe markers but cant remember. Dont remember what colours I used as she was coloured up a while ago.
I cut her out with CC Design Layering Tags die & then added her onto corrugated card painted with gesso.

The little tools, plant pot etc came with the Seed Packet die, as did the little plaque.....its one of those plant labels & I thought it would be perfect for adding a sentiment to.
The wording was cut from a Pion Design sheet, I also inked all around the edge.
I used Maja Design Monochrome 'White/Sand' for the plant &label stake & garden tools & added inking with pumice stone.

So the other new die I had & had still not opened til making this card was the Marianne 'Seed Pocket & Garden Tools' die.........this is fabulous, I love it!! The pocket you can use with a side opening or a top opening, depending what you want use it for. I also want it to use on mini albums ;-)
For the pocket I used Sofiero 'The Magnificient Flower Street' & then cut an image from the 6x6 pad to go on the top, slightly distressing it beforehand. I then used Maja Design Monochrome 'Blush/Rouge' to cut the inside ticket/tag & made a tab to it for making it easier to pull out & I think it adds a nice look to it. The tab part I used Little Darlings Fancy Rectangle & Layers die.....this has to be one of my most favourite dies.I cut it out twice & glued together.
The sentiment is from Stempelglede stamp, there is also another on the back onf the tag saying Made With Love from the same stamp set.

I also want to remind about the Lovely Hanglar Or Sweet Magnolia challenge which has 2 weeks left & a fabby prize on offer.
They are also having a DT Call, here are the deets...
