Lovely Lace at Deep Ocean

Hello everyone how are you all?
I'm really late with this post unfortunately so think of it as a midway reminder lol.

I'm here with my DT creation for Deep Ocean Challenge which this fortnight is.....
LOVELY LACE
......oh so so easy, its a rarity I dont put lace on my creations lol.

The card I'm showing today I made when I made my other LOTV christmas card.
This time however I used NO Christmas Paper at all ;-)
So the paper I've used for is Maja Design 'Enjoying Outdoors' 6x6 pad........the colours in this pad go perfectly with the image. I wanted browns to go with the forest the little girl is in but I also wanted to bring the gorgeous colour of her scarf out......
I machine stitched around the edges as always.
I'm sorry about my photo's just lately I've been taking them on my phone & on the conservatory window sill so they are not great.........time has been escaping me just lately as there is so much going on.
Anyhoo enough boring drivvle lol.
The gorgeous image is one of the new releases from LOTV, this is a Simply Print image called 'Singing Robin' & they have added even more since I got this.....may have to go shopping again lol.
I do have some LOTV stamps that I have coloured, I just need get them on cards.
I cut it out using a postage die & then added a layer of purple underneath to give it a bit of impact on the colour........I think its worked nicely.

I added Scrapiniec & WOC flowers down the bottom right corner & to the top right I aded a sentiment from an old wood block stamp & cut it out using a Magnolia die. I then added a couple of bells & some waxed cord.

I've been neglecting my foamiran lately so I was trying something new......which I will show another time, & I decided to make some poinsettia flowers. I made white ones using a none poinsettia die & I made these Ivory ones using a poinsettia die..........I have a few of these dies so its good to experiment to get the right shape & size you want.
I also made the smaller flowers in a purple foamiran using a Rosy Owl die, the leaves I made using a Whimsy die designed by Bev Rochester.

Sorry for the darkness of this photo lol.
The lace is from my stash & I added 2 layers of cream to add softness to it.
The snowflake border is a Joy Crafts die. As you can see I decorated inside to compliment the front.

Thats it for me, I have lots to do today as we got back from Berwick yesterday as we went away for a long weekend with all the family.....lots of washing lol.
I've also got my granddaughter today as she wants sleep over tonight, she isnt back school until next week as she had an operation the day schools started back & has to be off for 2 weeks.
Here she is just before she went to theatre, she was so brave & not scared at all.......I love this girl!!
Payton just before theatre 5th September 2017.

Well I better get off this laptop & move my body. See you soon lovelies, thanks so much for stopping by & reading my drivvle lol.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Sweet Baby Boy

Hello everyone I'm running late with this post & have a busy day so gonna get on as quick as possible my lovelies.

Ok so today I'm here for the new chalLenge over at All About Magnolia & this month our challenge is super duper easy peasy..........
ANYTHING GOES
..........what is easier than that lol.

My card today was not originally meant for this challenge, it was just a card for fun as I had coloured the image quite a bit ago & decided to use it. However it came in handy as I didnt have time to finish what I was making.
I made a baby card with my favourite baby stamp. Usually I use Maja Design Baby papers but this time I decided to use Maja Design Denim & Friends 6x6 collection.....I love how this pad can work for so many occasions. You can get this paper here from Swedish House Crafts.

The star & the rabbit are from Doohickey Volume 13, I edged them with ink & added bits of structure paint here & there, mainly the edges.
You can get the Doohickey volumes from Swedish House Crafts & you can great deals on them, Suha knows how expensive these kits can be so you can reserve Volume 16 for £10 but if you dont like it when it is released then you can change your mind..........pop over to here to read the details.

The Magnolia stamp is called Sleeping Baby Tilda but coloured him for a boy & I coloured him with distress ink refills, added stardust stickles to his wings.
This stamp is available to buy from Swedish House Crafts, its been a long time since I've seen this stamp for sale in the UK......pop along & get it before they go!!
I then cut him out using Magnolia Pink Edition Rounded Frames which are on a fabulous offer at Swedish House Crafts right now.

The heart tag is from Magnolia Doohickey Volume 14 & I added words & letters from Tim Holtz pads to read Sweet on the front & Baby Boy inside.

As always I decorated inside & I machine stitched all the papers.
Lace is from my stash, the tulle I have in a few colours & have quite a bit of it lol.
Flowers are from WOC & the doily is from my stash.

Hope you will join us this month over at All About Magnolia.

Thats it form me, my grand-daughter is having an operation today & I've got my grandson to look after & other things to do but cannot say incase someone reads this blog lol.

Hope the weather for you is better than it is here.........raining cats & dogs....or is it dogs & cats ;-)
Take care & thanks for stopping by mmwah.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Merry Christmas Wall Hanging

Hello everyone, how are you all? I'm here today with my DT make for Swedish House Crafts.

This year is going so so fast before we know it we will be putting up those twinkling lights & waiting for the round jolly fella in red. I love Christmas its one of my favourite times of year, lots of time spent with family....perfect.

So I thought I would make a wall hanging for my eldest son, fiance & grandkids home. I made myself one last year & they loved it so I have made one for them......kinda like from our home to their's :-)

I used Maja Design papers which are my favourite. For the hanging I created a bauble shape by hand. I inked the papers, then distressed them before sewing all around them on my sewing machine.
I used cardboard off a cereal box as the bottom as this gives it more strength & I then backed each paper onto 400gsm cardstock to give it a good weight. I didnt want a flimsy wall hanging....it needs to last

For the trees I used Magnolia Birch die.....I cut them out using the same paper as my first layer which was Maja Design 'For Frosty Mornings from the I Wish collection. I inked the edges then brushed on white structure paint to give them a textured wintery look.
I also did the same to the Mistletoe, I think they look so pretty like that.

The image is Magnolia's Snowy Cottage & I coloured it with distress ink refills & added Stardust Stickles to all the snow & white enamel accents paint to the snow drops.
I then cut the image out using Stitched Rectangles die.
You can also see I added Jute in the top right corner what is just peeking out, this was cut from a Magnolia die.

I cut out Mistletoe from the 6x6 pad with the Magnolia die in the same colours to match the card & added structure paint to add texture & a wintery look.
The little postcard I added is from the same Maja Design 'I Wish' collection 6x6 pad.
I added hessian, bark stars with gesso on & lace, ribbon & waxed cord to add a few different textures to the hanging. I also added bits of gesso to the flowers to complete the wintery look.

Hope I have inspired you to maybe start creating christmas things, or maybe you have already started. Swedish House Crafts has lovely Christmas products as well as lots of other yummy things.

You can find my blog here.

A Christmas Card

Hello everyone, hope you all have a lovely weekend & hope the weather has been nice like it has here.........made such a nice change to have a hot bank holiday lol.

Well today I have a quickie card to show you, yep a super easy make & that's not all.....its my first christmas card woooooo hooooo (I think anyway lol). This year really is going lightning fast & before we know those lights will be up with the tree & the jolly fella with a wobbly belly will be coming.

I made this card a few weeks ago, I got a few simply prints from LOTV.......I actually made a couple. Think these may get used a lot this Christmas lol.

Please excuse my pics at the moment as I'm using my phone camera, its a good camera but I do prefer to use a good proper camera. Hubby is insisting now that I use the new one so I'm trying to learn how to use it & the software..........with some help from both of my sons lol.

I used Maja Design papers..........I love this pad, yeah yeah ok I love ALL Maja Design papers lol.
This one is called 'Home For The Holidays' & as always I have machine stitched around the edge.
I thought these papers went brilliantly with the image.

The ribbon is from my stash which I've had for a long time, I have it in a few colours & tend to forget I have it......you know what I mean right ;-)

So the fabulous image is LOTV Simply Print 'Christmas Snowman' & I printed it out onto matt photo paper as I prefer the matt for the simply print images.

I added a few flowers & Scrapiniec leaves, keeping it all on the low-key ;-)
The ribbon I added on the corner of the paer first then did the stitching & then onec the card was made I then attached a bow on top with a bit of bling....you have to have bling at Christmas ;-)

So there is my first crimbo card.....I will be back in a few days with another Christmas make ;-)

Thanks for stopping by I have my grandkids for a couple of days as they wanted to stay a few days & have sleep overs lol. So today we are off out to the woods with the dog & packing a picnic.

Enjoy your day what ever you are doing lovelies, take care.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxxx

Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia

Hello there everyone & Happy Bank Holiday..........well to those who have Bank Holiday today. I'm happy to say that here by the sea its a lovely day..........now that's a rarity on Bank Holiday Monday lol.

Ok so I'm here with my DT card for Lovely Hanglar Or Sweet Magnolia Challenge, yes it should have been on yesterday but I forgot & we were at my eldest son's for BBQ......we had a fab day. I tried last night but have had a nightmare with photo's.......got quite stressed with it & felt like putting the lappy on the end of my shoe with lots of force lol.

Anyway the challenge this time is sooooooooo easy peasy, it really really is, do you wanna know.........of course you do, psst come here...

DIE-CUTS

.............see easy peasy. Just add die-cuts to your creation & enter, please remember though that the image has to be either a Hanglar or Magnolia stamp.

Now with being away on holiday its completely thrown me since I've come back to the point I could never remember the day or date lol. So I forgot about my DT card........luckily I still have quite a few cards I've not shown.
This card I made about 2 months ago I think, I brought the stamp off the fabulous Donna. However you can now get this stamp from Swedish House Crafts here.
The fabulous stamp is from the Pink Lemonade collection & is called 'Tilda In The Garden', I was after this stamp for sooooo long, then finally get it & finally make a card then forget to show it lol.
Tilda was coloured using distress ink refills but cannot remember the colours I'm afraid.
I made the bottom of her shovel look dirty as though she has been doing some work not just standing around looking pretty lol.

I used a Magnolia die for the shape of the card, yes it finally got its first use lol. Papers are Maja Design from the Nyhavn collection & were machine stitched. Dies are a mixture of Spellbinders, Marianne & Magnolia & Magnolia Doohickey collection.
Doilies & 3 lots of lace are from my stash. The little tag is Magnolia as is the sentiment on it, they come together.

Thats it from me but we hope you will join us in our challenge of Die-Cuts, remember you can enter as many times as you like.........more chances to win ;-)

We are off to The Range now...........hubster may regret this one as I love The Range, such pretty stuff for the the home in there :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Swedish House Crafts DT Card

Hello there, hope you are all well.

I'm here today with my first official post for Swedish House Crafts wooooo hooooooo. I made this card a couple of weeks ago before I went on holiday using lots of products from SHC.

I was going to make a Magnolia card as Suha has sooooooo many gorgeous Magnolia stamps and dies but then I decided to use some Gummiapan products which I'm getting addicted to. Their stamps stamp perfectly every time and their dies cut brilliantly.......I love them......the best bit is the price, great products at a fantastic price!!!

So here's my card, a bit of shabby chic the Gummiapan way ;-)

The papers are Pion Design Easter Collection, I love this whole collection and all the sheets can be used for all year round.......as you can see. Every sheet really is so so pretty.
On my 2nd layer I used the Gummiapan Old Paper die, on some of the little splits I distressed and made them slightly bigger so I could put bits of lace underneath.....this is an excellent way of using up scraps of lace you have lying around.....I never throw anything lol.
I very slightly distressed the whole layer and inked it up with Pumice Stone distress ink, concentrating it more in the little splits/rips.
For the sentiment I used Gummiapan 'Without Change There Would Be No Butterflies'....I lurve this sentiment. I stamped with Versa onto vellum and then added white embossing powder and cut it out using oval dies. I then made a frame using two oval dies to attach it to. The right side of the oval is popped up onto a tiny foam pad to keep it raised.

For the large butterflies I used the Gummiapan Butterfly Morpho large and again using versamark and vellum, I used white and pink embossing powder and then fussy cut them out. Once they are cut out I then gently creased the vellum either side of the body to fold the wings up and glue onto a flat butterfly.

The little butterflies were made using Gummiapan Butterfly Morpho small and Gummiapan Butterfly Monarch small and again I slightly creased them either side of the body to give them dimension as though they are flying.

The rectangle was cut using the Gummiapan Stitched Rectangles, I cut out a piece from Pion Design paper first and then I used two different sized dies and made a frame to go on top. I also added flowers, Magnolia leaves and some twine and lace to finish the shabby chic look to this card.
The bottom layer I distressed slightly and then machine stitched all around.

I hope I have give you some inspiration. Why not grab a cuppa, sit in a comfy chair and pop on over to Swedish House Crafts where you can find lots of fantastic Swedish Products........all links to items are below and will take you straight to them. Magazine Card

Hello there everyone how are you all? Hope you are all well.
Well I will be in Devon now....soon be cooking a full english breakfast (its the law when on holiday to cook one every morning lol) but before I went I did have time to do 1 or 2 posts lol.
This is a card that I forgot to show you so thought I would do a quick post to show you it.

I was asked to do a card for Papernest Dolls for a magazine, there were quite a few gorgeous cards going in this magazine by fabulously talented crafters.

Here is my card which I kept foofiness to a minimum.
She is a rubber stamp called 'Bird Nest'.......I'm sure she is called that lol, my brain is all mixed up with flour after a heap of baking I did before my hols....cheesecakes, quiche's, biscuits & cakes lol.

I coloured her with copics. Papers are from my stash & I cannot remember what pad they are from.....they were machine sewn as always.
The small tag I think is CC Design's die. The border above the lace is a MS punch.
The sentiment is Stamping Bella.....again I think. It was done a while ago & I cant remember everything I used now lol.
I do know though that all the flowers are WOC lol.

I was extremely chuffed as this card make the cover..............yayyyy me, so happy lol. Though I have to say hubby was even happier, he rushed out again to buy the magazine & then wanted frame it.........I drew the line there dont worry lol. Its in my cupboard in my craft studio lol.

Here is the magazine it was in.

Ok I'm off now & will be back again soon.
Take care lovelies & thank you for stopping by.
Squishy hugs Vicky xxx

Deep Ocean Challenges

Hello there everyone its nice & sunny here by the sea today, perfect for getting my bedding out on the line after I've finished this post.
I must say sorry for being late with this post, we go on Holiday to Devon tomorrow woooo hooooo but it means this week has been crazy busy.  So I will make the post quick-ish lol.

Ok so this fortnight over at Deep Ocean Challenges our theme is............
SHABBY CHIC or VINTAGE
................omg I love both these themes, however I didnt really have time make anything but thankfully I have a few makes that fit this theme. This one I made when I first got the stamps.
I used the super gorgeous Maja Design Sofiero collection which you can get from Swedish House Crafts with the Monochromes to go with it, just click here.
I used a Go-Kreate die for the shape of the card & also used a circle one the for 2nd layer.
All papers were machine sewn & gesso added.

I added lace & cheesecloth form my stash.
All smaller dies used are Magnolia, the Bow, butterfly, both tags, swirl & the leaves.

The fabulous stamp is from the Magnolia From Farm To Market collection & this beauty is called 'Market Tilda With Fruits' & you can get her & many others from Swedish House Crafts.
I coloured her with distress ink refills & 1 marker which are her boots.
I also stamped the fruit that comes with here around her a bit.
I cut her out using MB Stitched Ovals.

As you can see I decorated inside to compliment the same as the front.

Here you can see the tag out with a charm attached, I used a Magnolia die but left it blank til I know what it will be used for. The seam binding I made myself a long time ago.....havnt made any for a while will have to remedy that lol.

The sentiment on the Magnolia Tag peeking out is from Tim Holtz wording doo dah's.....yeah I cant remember what they are called lol.

Hope you will join us this fortnight for our shabby chic/vintage theme we love seeing what you create.

I'm gonna go peg my washing out & then I have lots of beds to make including the bed in our touring caravan as thats what we are going on holiday with so I have that to clean inside  out today. Then I'm baking LOTS this evening as I'm making tea & desert to take down with us. Its the whole family going in 2 tourer's & we doing the travelling over 2 days, so the first night we are stopping over just outside Birmingham & then first thing the following morning we will travel down to Devon.
Will catch up with you all when I get back.

Thanks for stopping by, I will have a couple of scheduled posts......I hope if I get time to do them later lol.
Tatty bye lovelies
Big hugs Vicky xxx

21st Male Card

Hello everyone how are you all?
I'm sorry I've been missing in action lately, I do have lots of stuff to show but not had time this last week to blog........so much going on. I've not even crafted or coloured for a week.....

Ok I got the latest Maja Design collection 'Denim & Friends' from Swedish House Crafts, they had an awesome deal on the whole collection.......I got the collection, the 6x6 pad & 2 lots of the matching co-ordinates for a fantastic price.
You get the 12x12 collection here for £29.99 plus you can get the co-ordinates for just £5 when buying the full collection!!!
I have to say this collection is gorgeous, it can be used for male & female cards.......however if you struggle with male cards like I do then let me tell you this collection will not only make it easier but it will make you WANT to make male cards......... seriously I made 2 in the first day I got the set.........here is the first one!!!
Ive kept this one more on the simpler side as I really wanted the papers & image to stand out.
I used the 6x6 pad for the bottom layer. I cut 2 sheets in half & then overlapped them & machine sewn all around the edge & then along the middle in zig-zag...
The top half represents the shirt & waistcoat & the bottom half represents the jeans ;-)

The 21 was cut from Kraft cardstock from dies in my stash, cannot remember what brand.
When I put them through the number 2 slipped..........normally I secure them down but I forgot & I liked the way it wasnt quite perfect & ended up a little smaller than the number 1.....it was a happy accident ;-)

I used other sheets from the 6x6 pad & created a backdrop for the image to go on. I chose my papers carefully & when looking through them I saw that this sheet said ''I wish I had invented blue jeans''.. so I thought it was perfect for my card & decided to underline & add little stars to accent it.
The backing is a co-ordinate sheet 'Blue', I used one side for the very bottom layer & the other side as they are 2 different shades for the first banner shape.
First 2 layers were stitched together to match the stitching on the card.
There was also a little something written lower down which I also underlined ''You're a star''....
As there was this text when choosing a button I chose one that would go with denim & one that had a star on.......co-ordination at its best lol.

The base of the card I used another sheet of Maja Shades of Denim Co-Ordinates 'Brown'.
The hessian piece at the top is a Magnolia DooHickey & is cut from Kraft cardstock.
The gorgeous image is from the same Maja collection & is called 'Snapshots Guys In Jeans' seriously this sheet is awesome & makes you want to create more male cards. You also of course get the smaller ones in the 6x6 pad too.
I distressed the edges a little just like all the other layers & then added at an angle to give the card a more interest.

I love love LOVE this collection..........yeah yeah I say it about every collection but for someone like me who doesn't do male too often.....well to do 2 in one night is good going lol.
Will show you the other one another day.......a clue though, the other is more teen orientated ;-)

Well thats it from me I have shopping to do today as I have quite a bit of baking to do this week.....what better way to travel a long way than with homemade goodies in the car for every time you stop lol.

Thanks for stopping by big hugs to you all
