Hello everyone hope you all had a lovely weekend.
I'm here today with something I made back in January.
Now in real life this looks soooooo much better but taking photo's was so hard....even more so once I put it in a frame.
This is for Natalie's bedroom wall so its colours matches her bedroom & its for her grandad. Natalie was the apple of my dads eye & he could always make her smile. Excuse my french here but as soon as she heard the words 'How's my little shit-bag' she would give off the hugest smile & knew it was her grandad........its love without words as thats how Natalie loved her grandad, she could never tell him but she showed it through her smile.
WARNING PHOTO HEAVY
I basically made a kinda scrapbook page.........kinda, sorta.....lol.
Papers are all Maja Design from different collections.
i had no plan involved when doing this, I just played & went with whatever came to mind at the time lol....I just did a bit at a time over the space of a few days in between DT work & other work.
The clock I cut from Maja Design Vintage Autumn Basics & heat embossed it with UTEE after fussy cutting it out. Then slid it between the top & middle layer of paper.
The bottom sheet of paper I mahcine stitched twice but in a wonky fashion so it went the whole shabby effect.
This corner I added structure paste through a Dutch Doobadoo stencil form Noor Design UK & added different colours of ink to soften the brick as I didnt want a stark white but also to add another shade of colour to the paper.
I added rub ons here & there from some I've had in my stash for a long long time. The pearls scroll I cut down, that I think is Prima but not certain.....I've also had that a long time lol.
The photo is the last ever photo to be took of my dad & it was took about 7-10 days before he passed away so he looks incredibbly ill on it........8 weeks before this photo he looked incredibly fit & healthy for a 59 year old man......even Dr's said that. Unfortunately chemo took its toll very heavy on him & didnt prolong his life.
The frame around him is Scrapiniec from Noor Design UK & I got this frame on my first Scrapiniec order but waited til the right time to use it.....this was it!!
The smaller papers are again Maja Design from Vintage Autumn Basics 6x6 pad..........love this paper!!
The little sentiment says 'Treasure Your Memories' & that was cut from some Maja Design paper.
I've added bits of lace here & there, I wanted bits of of lace poking out here & there & in nodefined order.
Not sure where the key is is originally from as I cant remember :-(
We have more bricks down here, with inks & the other half of the pearl scrolly thing lol. We also have cheese cloth peeking out.A resin butterfly with bits of fran-tage on.
I also pleated the bottom corner of the paper which is where I thought of the pleating thing I did on the card I did for the Maja Design Mood board, click here if you havn't seen it.
Here I added more lace with ripped paper & brick paper from the layer underneath peeking through with lace as well. I've aslo added more rub on wording.
Around christmas time we went our local Hobbycraft & I brought 2 of these frames, they are 12x12 & deep so are perfect for projects like this............this is what I made it for....
Here it is in its frame. I added a large bark heart down the bottom corner & a couple of flowers to the top corner just so it wasnt too plain......
I really enjoyed making this, playing, getting inky & ripping & well just experimenting & seeing what came out in the end. Its not what I had pictured but at the same time I still like it. Like I said in real life it looks soooooo much better.
I will add a pic on later of it on Natalies bedroom wall so you can see it in its place.
Hope you liked my project today.
Thanks for stopping by & letting me share some memories with you.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx
