Something different............

Hi all you lovelies how are you all? Thank you so much for all your kind words in messages & e-mails, they have brought tears to my eyes but not in a bad way if you know what I mean....you know & explaining things....I'm rather pants at it arnt I??

Anyway I started crafting last night & its a damn good therapy let me tell ya lol. I'm not showing you yet tho cus I've not took piccies yet. However what I thought I would show is something I altered..........again lol.

I love shabby chic & thats what my bedroom was in so I brought plain lamps & gave them a beating etc lol & the pic below shows you how they looked when they were done..........my bedroom at the time is a very pale green which you can see on the wall behind lol.

Yeah just the base got the beating lol. Now this is taken in the middle of decorating & the new bedroom is more 'French Chic' this time so needed new lamps.............hubster not happy bout that 1 so my designing skills came out again & I turned the above lamp into this..........

I sprayed the base black & then attached wool & some beaded binding. The bow is actually a crimbo tree bow I removed the gold tinsel & wrapped wool around the middle to hold it together (like the tinsel did) & then added a crochet flower I made & a black flower to the centre from my stash.

This is on my bedside after the room was decorated............

Viola........this is it lit up....... they really do look gorgeous & I'm so pleased with them.

They match the bedroom perfectly & at a fraction of the cost. I also painted the bed as it was light oak, there is a mirror to match to go above the bed but I've still not finished it lol.

My furniture is just cheap furniture from Ikea as my son took mine with him........grrrrrrr

This is some of the last bunch of flowers my dad ever brought me, luckily I dried them out & split the bouquet into 2 as it was huge. This lot I decided to spray with matt white spray paint suitable for spraying on flowers. Its not covered perfectly as I did not want it to.

The little boxes are part of a gift all the DT girls got from Kenny K & Elena a few months back.

Well sorry for the long post & lots of photo's lol. Will be round soon to do some hopping Ben & Megan are on their way...........well I havnt seen them since last night lol. I know I'm soft & soppy lol.

Hi everyone................

Hi everyone how are you all? I want to start by thanking all of those that have left messages & e-mailed me over the last month. I havnt got throught them all yet but I will I promise & those who have e-mailed & not got a reply I will be getting round to replying.

Last month my only brother got taken into hospital, he has cancer & it had spread to his spine & pancreas & he could no longer walk or even feed himself. He didnt want to burden his wife with extra responsibility as well as look after their 3 children, 1 of which is only 3, so he got himself admitted to hospital. My brother lives over 200 miles away from me so we were constantly up & down the motorway to the hospital.

Sadly on 28th September 11pm uk time my brother passed away, he was 35 years old.

This was the reason I needed time away & I've kinda locked myself away with my family since then so have barely been on my laptop or the internet so this is the reason I've not e-mailed back to people.

I finally picked up my copics last night & had a go at colouring, its the first time in the last month so tomorrow I'm gonna TRY have a go at crafting hopefully.

Also on another note my eldest son & his girlfriend moved out last week into their own place which let me tell ya had me totally bubbling my eyes out. He has lived at home with me & his dad for 20 years & now he's not here........I felt like I wasnt gonna see him & Megan again........silly I know. Thankfully we are extremely close so we are texting each other constantly & still see each other every day lol. They wanted a house before the baby was born so they could have it ready. I am SOOOOO proud of them I really am.

Of course it has cost us a fortune but never mind thats what mums & dads are for so I'm told lol. However it did mean me & hubby got our bedroom back as we gave Ben & Megan the big room so I occupied myself last week by decorating......still bits to finish tho & its the fiddly bits that take forever.

Well I will go now hopefully I will be back tomorrow, I will catch up with you all I'm just taking it easy at the mo so it may take me longer than normal

. For all those out there that are affected by cancer in some way, my heart truly goes out to you & I am sending the biggest of hugs your way. This awful disease doesnt care who it attacks, it doesnt matter what age, sex or race you are........but the one thing it can never take is the love & your memories, so hold onto them........nothing can take them away!!!! Sadly this is the 10th member of my family it has taken but to all those out there still fighting........well give it all you can, keep on fighting & we will keep you all in our prayers & thoughts.

Hi I just want to let everyone know I will not be posting for a while something has happened to a family member & I need time away...........at the min I'm not even sure if I'm wording this right I will try to answer e-mails but be prepared to wait please. We are going through a really rought time & blogland & crafting I'm afraid is the last thing on my mind.

Finally got to use my Whimsy Bottle Cap sentiment stamp & die. I also heat embossed with 1 coat of UTEE.

She was of course coloured with Copics, cant quite remember the colours used but the greys are the N's gives it kinda like a distressed black look.........

CES Challenges DT Card/Project............

Babies...........babies..........

Hello everyone I'm running a tad late today I wont bore you & will just get on. I have 2 cards to show you today..............I know check me out lol. It seems like there is something in the water at the mo as there seem to be babies popping up......or should I say out everywhere lol. Including my own special grandchild in January. So I thought I would make a couple of baby cards, ya know to prepare.....psst also cus Pollycraft Challenge is 'Babies' lol...........

WARNING.....Photo heavy

For the first one I saw this image on Paula's card & got an idea straight away so went & brought the image lol.

I have used 'Rocking Horse' from Pollycraft. The idea behind this card is its ok for a boy or a girl. The body I paper-pieced & coloured the rest with Copics & added a gold pearl to the heart on the saddle.

The fabby sentiment is a Basic Grey rub on from Crafty Emma's Store. I added 2 gold pearls to the centres of 2 small flowers.

As you can see I got my sewing machine out & stitched all around the papers..............yay for me!!

I also printed a smaller image for the inside.

The gingham paper, kraft card for matting & plastic bows from my stash.

Added 2 Gardenia Petals & ataached a gold pearl to the centre.

This one of course is for a little prince. I printed the image out twice & cut the cloud from the 2nd one & attached using foam pads.

Image is 'Moon Lullaby' from the Little Stars collection & he has been coloured with Copics & lace stickles added to the stars. Painted the wooden dummy in weathered wood distress paint & white acrylic.

There is also a basic Grey rub on sentiment there but unfortunately it doesnt show up too well.

Usually I decorate the inside but there are times when I just add 120gsm paper to the inside & attach a piece of card to the back so it feels as strong as the front......... I have again also printed a smaller image for on the inside. The sentiment again is a Basic Grey rub on.

Papers on both cards are 'Baby Mine' Fancy Pants on 6x6 On The Edge card blanks also added card candy.

Well if you got to this point well done you...........I actually had a break half way through & had a cuppa & a cherry bakewell tart lol........mmmmm I loves me some cakes.

Crafts & Me DT Card...............Petal Melody

Hello peeps how are you all? Well its Wednesday which means its time for Crafts & Me Challenges but not only that it also is the Rockin'Rubbah Girlz turn to challenge you this week.

A nice easy one this week for all you lovelies........

ADD A HEART

See....how easy is that!!!!!!!!

I have re-inked a stamp that I absolutely love........& she is one of my faves, yes its a big fave list I have lol.

When I think of hearts I also think of roses.......you know red roses, romance........candle-light.......

Anyhoo........back to my card I was going off into Vicky World then.............

The Wooden Heart I painted with white acrylic paint then splodged some Tim Holtz clear crackle stuff on.

The sentiment is from Whiff Of Joy & I stamped it on kraft card & inked the edges with TH Vintage Photo ink. I cut the sentiment out using my Nellie die.

The image os course is 'Petal Melody'............isn't she just sooooo pretty!!! This beautiful stamp is exclusive to Crafts & Me store.

She has been coloured with Copics of course & Prisma pencil on her rose.

I've just realised I've forgot to do her bracelet.......oops guess what my job is after lol...

I used On The Edge 6x6 card blank & Pressed In Time papers from Raspberry Road,

35mm Gardenia flower & 2 Rose Buds. All paper & kraft card have had edges inked with Vintage Photo distress ink. The doily, lace & seam binding ribbon is from my stash. The heart I cut out using a MS punch & then dabbing some paint on it & inking the edge.

Good Times with Mimo........

Hello all my lovelies how are you? WOW arn't these winds just terrible, hope everyone has managed to keep safe out there. My youngest was out for a bit last night & 1 poor couple were told they shouldnt sleep in their house last night & it wasnt deemed safe.........the winds were just that bad.

Anyway onto my card. I actually made this on Saturday but completely forgot about it, the image tho has been coloured for ages!!!

I made a boys card for a change cus I do tend to neglect the male cards at times.

This is 'Mimo Tree' by Bildmalarna.........I've been neglecting these stamps lately & they are on special over at Bunny Zoe's........ You should also check out the new crimbo ones they are gorgeous I had to get them all the other week............in my defence tho Nikki had a bank hol sale on at the time &........well you know how it is.................lol

I have stitched all around the edge using blue thread.

I've used a 6x6 scalloped card blank & used Fancy Pants 'Beach Bum' paper. 

Buttons are from my stash & I've threaded the same blue thread through them I used for stitching.

This little fella was coloured with Copics & the sky I did with chalks & sprayed with Crafters Companion Spray & Shine.

Used a Whimsy sentiment & cut out the card myself.

Pearl The Mermaid by Saturated Canary..............

Hello my lovelies I am back with a card for you & a new digi image.

Krista who designs the Simply Sassy range for Sugar Nellie has now opened her own digital image shop Saturated Canary so you can now buy her fabulous art in digi stamps.........now I love digi stamps so altho I tried to resist buying any (you dont want to know how many in-inked ones I have) I did weaken & it didnt take long for me to weaken. I thought 'Ooooh I will pop over you know just to have a peekskie..........I will NOT buy any mmmmmmmm would you believe 4 fell into my basket, I tell ya those darn cyber baskets they are lethal........I've heard there is more images this weekend.......I daren't go over yet tho lol....

Anyway here is my first image for you all & I have to say I so enjoyed colouring her especially her hair.

I used Whiff Of Joy 6x6 Paper pad to decorate my 6x6 On The Edge Card blank & used Kraft card from my stash for matting. All paper has been splodged with white acrylic paint.

The gorgeous Silky Crushed Ribbon is sooooo beautiful & was my last so I need to get more now.......oh darn it....ribbon shopping.........;0)

My latest order from Bunny Zoe's contained the fabulous Whimsy Mini Postage stamps & Mini Postage Die which I stamped onto kraft & went around the edge with a touch of white paint.

The gorgeous image is 'Pearl a Mermaid' & isnt she just sooooo pretty. I coloured her with Copics & kept to light colours to show just how pretty she is........& also cus I luuurrrvvve blue's lol.

I cut her out & placed her on foam pads & lay her on some blue paper to imitate water....well the colour anyway lol.

The leaves I cut using a Magnolia Doo Hickey & then attached a Mulberry Daisy.

I enjoyed making this card & it all just flowed together swimingly..........lol sorry for the pun lol.

Well I'm away now to finish off one of the crochet baby blankets I'm doing for someone, I will be back later to hop along your blogs to catch up with you all.
