Good morning everyone I'm running late this morning I've had a very poorly hubster & than I wasn't too good last night. I also thought there were 31 days in this month when I realised at 7pm last night there wasnt & I had my DT creation to email to Sandy for todays challenge...........well it was a rush lol. The first image didnt work out with my distress markers so I got out my copics & coloured another & set on rushing my ass off.............lol
Luckily the theme is quite apt for me its...............
BY THE SEA
.................yep as I live by the sea & LURVE the sea this project took no thinking & flowed together ;0) So come & join us girlies over at Live & Love Crafts with your By The Sea creations ;0)
I have made a gift bag............I thought this would be a perfect thing to send a gift to someone special............a gift from by the sea which is perfect for me, it would take me about 4-5 mins get to the beach walking........yet usually I travel a couple of miles up the road & go a different beach tbh.
I have used lots of yummy stuff from LLC, I will list everything at the bottom. Love this gorgeous 'Key Charm' & I've used some gorgeous shabby seam binding.
This is the back of the gift bag, gone a wee bit simpler on the back. Of course no sea project is complete without some Cheesecloth & some Jute fabric ;0) The smaller coloured shell & the larger shell are from the beach itself a LONG time ago lol. I've added a Canvas Mini bag & cut a tag from Shoreline Treasures Tags 12x12 sheet, added string & seam binding. The image I cut from from Bottom Of The Sea sheet & attached it to the front.
At the top of both the front & back I made holes in the top 2 corners & attached metal eyelets & using string from my stash & added knots along it. In the centre I added a bunch of keys charm, love this charm.......will def be getting more of these.
You can see I've done the same to the front but added a different charm & instead used a Life Buoy charm, as all beaches need one of those. I also made 2 paper scrolls & tied them with a bit of Bakers Twine, well I pulled the twine apart & just used the dark blue threads ;0)
All the flowers are aldo from LLC & the rolled roses are Kort og Godt. I've added a gorgeous Shabby Bark Heart, I have to say these are my favourite things to use. I've also added a little Vial bottle there & my son went & got me some sand from the beach to put in it, hubster washed it first though for me.......wow you should have seen the dirt come out eewww!!
The image is of course by Hannah Lynn for Crafts & Me & its been a long time since I coloured one of these up but as soon as I thought of by the sea, I thought instantly of Hannah Lynn Mermaids.
This is 'Violet', she is a digi image & I coloured her with my Copics, colours used are below........
E11, E21, E00, E000, RV21 - Skin
E49, E47, E44, E43, E40 - Hair
B97, B95, B93, B91, B00 - Blues
E29, E27, E23, E21 - Wood
YR27, YR24, YR21, YR00 - Sun
R39, R35 - Lips
B00 for the background. I also added string to the wood for a bit of realism ;0)
It was a bit of a rush so I'm not 100% happy with the hair but that will teach me to be thick lol.
The totally yummy papers are from Pion Shoreline Treasures collection, wow am I glad I brought this collection...........I love blues for crafting & these are just so gorgeous. The ones I've used are 'Sailing', possibly my fave as the writing side is lush!! The stripey one is 'Seashells' again I used the reverse side. All papers I have distressed, inked with walnut & machine sewn. The little sentiment I cut from 'Bottom Of The Sea' 6x6 sheet.
Both the gorgeous laces are from LLC, the bottom one is called 'Lace Leonore' & is OMG so pretty IRL.
Items used.............All from Live & Love Crafts
I have also added a wooden heart button which is from my stash. However Sandy has recently started stocking gorgeous Shabby Wooden Heart buttons which are so much prettier, here is the link.

You're so lucky to be living next to the sea! I grew up next to the sea...well hubby refers to it as a big lake sometimes just because it has brackish water, but anyway...
Lovely project; of course I love the Hannah Lynn image, but so cool that you used a vintage image on the back. Lovely details.
