Forever Rose

Good evening all grab yourself a cuppa as it is a long post.....but its only long cus of piccies & not my usual babbling lol.  This will be my last posting until after crimbo as I just dont seem to be having the time, as I'm sure all of you too are very busy lol.
Anyway Jane from WOJ posted something on her blog the other day that I fell in love with, she got the idea from someone else, you know how it works lol. Well I thought I would give it a go but unfortunately couldn't find a tutorial for it, so I thought I would have a go at doing 1 myself & see how it goes. Now it does need tweaking here & there but the concept is there.
Anyway here it is....

This beautiful image is from 1 of the most fabulous shops (I think so anyway lol, I love it) it is indeed a new Digital Stamp release from Crafts & Me & she is called 'Forever Rose'. The other night Crafts & Me released their 1st digi stamps well I was soooo excited I went straight over & brought all 7 of them. I printed them that night & started to colour them the following day. This beauty is my fave & I thin it is the sort of image that will suit many colour schemes & many themes. As this is for my SM I have gone for pretty shabby chic. Now this is not what it seems..........for when you untie the ribbon & open it up......

mmmmmm choccies.....the idea is is its to look like a book from the outside but reveals a surprise inside....the surprise is up to you. I will be buying some chocs especially to put in I just grabbed these out of our quality st tin to give the idea.... A tag is attached to write a message on. Tag was cut out using a Magnolia Doo Hickey die.

Altho its for crimbo I'm hoping she will want to keep this so I didnt want it looking christmassy so would only be able to be got out one month a year. I used my Tim Holtz Alterations 'Once Upon A Time' thru my bigshot for the letters to say 'Mother'

This is without chocs

It all ties nicely shut with a gingham ribbon.

The rose I made myself from plain paper......come to my blog after crimbo when there will be changes. It will be re-designed & there will be a few tutorials on here also....I'm on doing them in between other things at the mo lol. Hopefully you will like the new improved blog when it arrives lol.

This is the last pic....I have saved the close-up of this beautiful image until last. She is coloured with Promarkers & Sakura gel pen added to parts of the rose. All the paper & card have been inked with 'Victorian Velvet' & 'Vintage Photo' distress inks. The flower next to the rose is actually from these scrummy Marianne design paper pad which is called 'Roses Are Red' & they are totally beautiful. I cut around the rose on the gingham paper then covered it with extra thick embossing powder & zapped it with my heat gun.
Materials used & links....

Well thats it from me, my hubby is clearing snow off the sky dish cus we keep losing signal lol, we've had about 8-9 inches of snow here today. I hope where-ever you are you are safe & warm.
I want to wish you all a fabulous crimbo & I wish you all love, health & laughter for the new year ahead.....
Until then huge hugs to each & every 1 of you thank you so sooo much for all your wonderful support & for all your comments since I joined 8-9 months ago, you really are the best.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart mmwah.
Merry Christmas Everyone. xxxx
