My Exploding Box - Anya's Secret Garden

Well I'm a bit late posting this but I've had a hectic few days. I spent quite a few hours up the A&E with Craig because he smashed his thumb with a hammer when fixing our son's car, he ended up having a few stitches so he has been a little less able this weekend bless him. Our daughter Natalie had a few spots on her face when she went to school in the morning but by the time she came home it looked like something had exploded on her face....there were spots everywhere on her face, but no-where else which we found odd. She has seen a doctor & he has perscribed her some anitbiotics but he doesn't know what has caused them or anything?? So we are keeping her off school for the week because who knows if they are contagious & we wouldn't want anyone else getting them. Natalie is nearly 18 but she is severly disabled with Cerebral Palsy so really she is like a 6 month old baby....mentally but do you know what she is the most gorgous girl in the whole world & she has a smile & a laugh that just melts you everytime....she is fantastic. Anyway back to what I'm posting...boy I do ramble on lol. This weeks challenge over at Passion For Promarkers is 'Garden Theme'. Well I love this site I'm only on my 4th challenge I think (or is it my 5th?????) but the inspiration the DT Team gives everyone is outstanding I love all their designs. This week I've completely strayed away from my comfort zone & thought I would try something new (AGAIN lol) I decided to make an exploding box & turned to my Crafter's Companion to help me out making it, WOW she made it SO easy......(shame decorating it wasn't as easy lol) I thought that I could make a garden for inside the box, so its more like a secret garden, I know I may of gone OTT but you know when you have this image in your head & its so fab that you have to do it.....only thing is it NEVER turns out that good, well not for me anyway :-( I brought 4 Anya Fairy digi stamps about a week ago from The Greeting Farm & I thought that they would be perfect for the box as they each stood for a season....winter, spring, summer & autumn. So each side could be a season with the box opening to her secret garden. I have to say that Craig also helped out on the idea for the garden to put trees & flowers in. The base of the garden is polystyrene covered with a hanging basket liner to make it look like the grass is real, I then put little trees & flowers in from my stash. I've got LOADS of jewellery making findings so I made a dragonfly & tied some silver wire to it to attach to the polystyrene to make it look like it was flying. We went a craft shop on Saturday to get some 12x12 card.......well hasnt card got expensive £50 it cost us...... yeah ok ok so I got a few other bits but I'm sure they just jump right into my basket lol. One of the things I did get was a Martha Stewart lattice punch which I've been after for ages so it got used quite a bit on this project. Anyway peeps I'm feeling rather tired now so am going for a shower then off to beddy byes, I REALLY hope they like it over at PFP & I will have to get myself entering other challenges & I'm gonna spend sometime tomorrow looking at other blogs....maybe I can get to know some people....hope that didnt sound stupid? Goodnight peeps take care & keep on smiling, please leave a comment if you have liked what you have seen... actually leave one if I talk too much, I'm sure to get a lot of comments for that ha ha
